NZ and Israel are really hurt (more than the West, I'd imagine) by the unfair demo sampling for the US.
Our prison population that is white is worse than minority-dominated prison populations of countries of similar rates to the white prison population rates.

Different countries assign different prison time for different crimes though so incarceration rates alone dont begin to tell the full story of how much violence and crime is actually taking place in any one place.

OP never defends position, never stated one conveniently.
It gets in the weeds on specific examples.
20 pages arguing back and forth on the specific in the weeds example.

Correct. Again, this goes back to the "freedom breeds inequality" comment about capitalism.
Your overly-regulatory, socialistic nations that focus the redistribution on the social safety net raise the floor to avoid having as large of an underclass. The trade off is your ceiling is largely capped as well.
And to bring it back to OP, how you define "commodification" will determine the path of the discussion.
Rich patrons funding the arts can be defined as "commodification" if you believe in the effects of colonialism hard enough.

Well I said that in the context of discussing crime as a function of the underclass.
I think where your comment comes into more play is for the middle class, where they don't realize that their status of middle class (and the comfort or uncomfort they experience) would be considered the lower class over here.

Oh you were talking about elsewhere. I think cultural factors are a greater driving force in crime probably, which extends beyond this discussion.
