it was around 2007, he was passing through LA visiting family and offered to meet anyone that wanted to meet him, I sent him a PM and started up an email conversation
we met at a cajun restaurant in saint martnville, he was going to see the evangeline oak after lunch

Gosh hope not. Guy was a classic in some ways a master on here. If so RIP Rex hope Maggie is well taken care of.

me too, it is second hand info from others who supposedly knew him personally. but it makes sense if so. he was in bad health. he had told me that years and years ago. That much i can confirm first hand.

One of my favorite memories was a thread he started linking an interview he did with a local news station. He was outraged that a local public school had crosses above windows or along the roof line. He was outraged because he objected to religious symbols on a public school building.
Most of us on the Poli Board insisted that he was over-reacting to the display of + signs because schools are supposed to promote math. He did not appreciate such a reasonable explanation.

I saw the video of Rex complaining about the crosses on the school. That's when he was living in South Carolina.
In September, I'll have been on TD for 19 years. I've seen them come and I've seen them go. Some move on, some get banned. Rex may have been a nice person IRL. On TD he was a flaming atheist and one of the most liberal posters to touch a keyboard.
If gone, R.I.P. His health was poor, then again, so was his love life. But, that's another story to be found deep within the TD archives...

I think he is alive. His online name elsewhere was “Rex Goodheart,” and he has posted on another forum fairly recently.

Rex was a lot of fun to spar with on this board back in the day. He was a nice, polite person when we met at a few TD events. He was an attention whore--but tolerable to a point. I do believe that's why he took some of his beliefs public, or made epic stands on a OP. At one of the TD tailgates he announced to the crowd it was his birthday and anyone who wanted to spank him could.

Rex was great. If you got him going it was hilarious. I also miss Toddy, he ended up voting for Trump in 2020 as well as Hugo Stiglitz.

No they are not. That’s silly. They do not have a single reason why they are leftists any more than we have a single reason for being on the right. But mostly, they think that allowing more behavioral freedom (drug use, abortion, alphabet rights, etc) is good, financial freedom (keeping most of your earnings) is bad, and that inequality of results among demographic groups is tantamount to inequality itself. Nutty stuff, but they’re not trying to destroy us (except for a few Marxists).
