Good example of good presidential leadership in our history, or no?

Trump is a coward when it matters most.

Hegseth proposed it.

I'd say a President walking back his defense secretary is an example of good presidential leadership.

Isn't the first time a President walked back his defense secretary.

I don't think Hegseth ran it by the president before blurting it out.
So Trump kind of slow played it as to not throw him under the bus, but I think this was always the outcome.

It should have never been proposed in the first place. It was a barbaric proposal and something to be expected coming out of the Middle East.

Trump having the maturity to call it off is actually a very smart move on his part. If the feds want to livestream the executions of people like the El Paso Walmart shooter, Dylan Roof, etc. go for it, but livestreaming the execution of a jihad has the inverse effect of any deterrence impact the death penalty has.

Pete proposed it, Trump said he fully supported it and gave him the green light but then walked it back. I think it is good leadership to pull the plug on it, but poor leadership to have allowed Pete to announce it in the first place.

comes out to a wash, but overall not a great look.

It definitely made a lot more people pay attention.

Are you going to gloss over the fact that when asked if he approved the live execution, his response was "absolutely"?

Trump never said the execution would be televised. That was all Hogshead’s idea…

Probably Trump taking the heat for his defense secretary.

Admirable trait.

Laughable, but whatever. I'm glad he landed on the right decision.

Trump had nothing to do with the live execution that was all Pete. Trump changing it shows how good of a leader he is. When everything is said and done, history will look back at Trump as the greatest leader the world has had in all of its history. Second only to Christ

You don’t think that shite put to be coordinated and decided in alignment beforehand?

Reporter: "Did you authorize or approve the live streaming of the execution?"

Trump: " Did I approve? Absolutely, I did!"

No point in rewriting history. He landed on the right decision.

Your OP reads like a note scribbled by a crackhead, but yes, it's probably the right decision given how soft many people are these days.

I would hazard a guess that some of his generals probably advised him against it, for no other reason than it being bad for troop morale that's already pretty low.
