Is it possible that we won't use our 2nd amendment rights to stop tyranny?

It's a common second amendment argument and a reasonable one to be certain.
I think a lot of people would agree that the COVID restrictions bordered on tyranny yet no one did anything
A lot of people thought the election was stolen and no one did anything of note
I think our society is too peaceful to really do much of anything. And most of you would willingly hand in your guns if some of them became outlawed.

No one has gotten desperate yet. I think it'll change once the inflation/gas prices mean that people can't feed their kids.

There is obviously some point where society breaks down and starts retaliating

Speak for yourself.
It only takes a few to resist, and those that would resist would resist HARD.
Did you not just see that a single 18 year old scared away an entire Texas city's police department?

Most people cower from violence, even if it means they are being enslaved.

I think, because the people who are against covid restrictions and know the election was stolen, are peaceful people with something to lose (a family) and still hold hope that diplomacy is how we solve these issues.

There's a difference between taking up arms because of a mask mandate, and having your lawful firearms all of a sudden be deemed illegal and having those people turn over their weapons.
But hey, nothing is stopping you from disarming yourself, and taking the hinges off your doors. Go for it!

People are too comfortable in this country.
Think about the average person.
You get in your car and drive to work where you sit at a desk all day.
You go home and play on the internet and eat too much.
Fat. Unactive.
People in this country are too comfortable to risk something such as that.
They’ll bitch, but when push comes to shove, most will sit in their climate controlled homes and browse through social media while eating junk.

Then they would be killed and the media would do the bidding of the state

Yes it's possible but we haven't been backed into the corner yet....it's getting close I believe

I have a fire suppression system in my home I hope to never need. It doesn’t go off just because my wife can’t cook very well.

Or their martyrdom rallies the patriots. Hard to say either way until something happens.

I suppose the question is what level of tyranny would it take for citizens to use arms against the state?

The only people who rebel against tyranny are people who are suffering.
Americans haven't suffered since about 1776.
Inconveniences? oh yea, we hate that but no one here is suffering enough to fight back.
And I actually think the government is actively trying to provoke the people to rebel so they can use it as a justification to end this nonsense of Constitutional rights once and for all. I believe they though 1/6 was going to be it, and as much as they have tried to make it the big event they realize they're going to have to try harder.
But I think the majority of people have already given up. and there aren't enough of those that haven't to make a difference.

I think you're dead wrong; one spark (or the right spark) and BOOM

Once those first few dominoes fall, I wouldn't give a squirt of piss for a federal agent. Question is, who's going to get froggy first?

Yep, not a chance in hell we will ever do it. The only way that could happen is if they decided to come take guns up on a mass scale and they will never do it that way. Most people will turn their guns over because we are a nation of pussies that don’t even really deserve this country and all we have been given!

I live in Alabama. Covid restrictions barely affected me. Definitely not enough to tar and feather politicians here.
