For anyone not an engineer it's fine, but PVC is designed for water/sewage systems. As Mech Engineer he should have used better, cheaper, less bulky materials that would stand up to stress/strain and time better. It's like if someone does Karaoke, that's fine, but if a professionally trained singer from Juilliard does it you expect a higher bar, even if they are a student. He went to Cal Tech, that whole thing is half assed.

Plus condensation builds up in PVC and will snap like a stick in extreme cold. Not a good idea for a wheelchair brake. But I’m just a former combat engineer so what do I know. lol

Therein lies the true crime of Affirmative Action, DEI and other such "race conscious" policies... the perception of achievement will always be tainted.

And this dude refuses to blame liberals for pushing this racist nonsense on everyone. Liberals created the doubt he now whines about.

So to that, how many times have you seen on this board, DEI being hypothesized of a white woman? Because they are DEI beneficial as well.

White liberal women are terrible people. This board can't stand white liberal women. If you read this board, you would know that. Do you even know what we call them?

BS.

Saying you'd hire her cause you'd pound her ain't DEI.

Might be the thought but actually attributing the acronym to them, no.

That acronym is typically a one way put down directed at one group of people, MOSTLY. Some do understand the nuance.

Is that in y'alls Quarterzip Weekly or something?

Not the first time in the past 24-48hrs a scholar has preached "nuance" in a racial discussion.

Brains have been through the punch-card machine of academia so they been programmed for 'nuance' since birth.

It's as involuntary a reflex as when Doc hits you with that little rubber hammer.

Liberals dont live in reality, so you likely do NOT know what you have seen.

You attach racism to everything you see.

DEI existed in the sense you all believe for what reason? Not to include those who did not have merit, but to include those who did because they were purposefully shut out.

Totally wrong. DEI existed because of numbers when objective merit was used. An easy example is IQ. Medical schools before DEI had very few blacks compared to whites and Asians because of large IQ differences. So, DEI was imposed to force low scoring blacks into med school over whites and Asians with higher scores. The Bakke case proved the discrimination. A black guy with a lower score than Bakke killed a woman doing a simple breast implant.

What's with the whole DEI thing? Just say what you really want. It's not thinly veiled racism if it isn't thinly veiled. Just be out right racist. Just be who you are!

I agree. Why allow the threat of being labeled something dissuade us from acknowledging the patterns and doing what’s necessary? The current treatment for this issue is to simply move away. But that won’t always work. The world our children will inherit will be far worse off if we don’t do what’s necessary.

Dude face it, White women are far better educated, they absolutely dominate DEI hiring.

I guess you happen to be a racist who thinks the only good diversity is your race getting unearned benefits.

What a racist you are dude, women don't add diversity!

I guess Hispanics and Asians don't count either?

You afraid Hispanics are going to take your jobs as soon as Hispanics start educating up like the Italians?

Dude... do you even have a job?

DEI is the LEFT's word.

The Left Praised DEI, stole jobs from white males.

They openly hired people due to DEI.

Because some black dude didn't get a chance in 1890, some white lesbian is a Director.

Or course.

None of their degrees are earned to the same level as whites or Asians.

Didn't
Earn
It

It means forcing less qualified people ahead of more qualified people because the decision maker prefers the race or gender of the less qualified applicant. Now quit pretending you don't know what upsets people about DEI.

most of their degrees could have gone to someone more qualified who would have achieved more with them.

It’s not speculation anymore. I’ve see these actual statistics.

Lower test scores. They try not to fail minorities. Etc etc.

Swedens new policy of automatically accepting 50% women into the medical programs is going to seriously affect them. They are taking large amounts of women and enrolling at the expense of men with much higher entry scores.

Good luck with that strategy
