Actually, oil never stopped transiting the strait; we know that now that the numbers were even suppressed.

I find these discussions sort of miss the point.
You either believe Iran was pushing towards a nuclear weapon or not.
If you believed they were, you either believe it was worth trying to stop them or not.
It seems like that is hardly discussed, even though everything that follows flows from that.
For the Internet required Godwin's Law:
We wouldn't have said "Hey, we should stop Hitler but it's gonna be super hard and gas prices will go up"
But maybe some people would think that way I don't know.
Anyways, my passing musings!
