According to a general who was on Cats and Cosby radio show, the plan is to attrit the IRGC until the three groups of armed resistance can finish taking them down and change the regime.

Thinking that removing the leadership would automatically cause the population to rise up is a repeated failed strategy that only a retard can think of. Thank you Hegseth. Trump surrounds himself with retards.

They had millions in the streets for the leaders funeral. Apparently we were lied to by our fake media, shocker i know.

Lots of bluster until Trump's term ends, keeping us in turmoil. Oil prices change up and down on a whim.
Meanwhile, Israel is steadily creating a new spy network within Iran.
Down the road, some sort of "urgent need to attack occurs", we fund it and execute it.
Rinse and repeat.

No matter how much we’ve bombed, the current regime has plenty of power to crush any uprising from the streets.

President Trump has his attention focused on the right thing 'the nuclear labs, materials, etc.'. I don't give two shites about 'the strait'. That is for the damn Euros and gulf nations to figure out. In fact screw the Euros, they have been pathetically absent until recently with their token efforts. I firmly believe Team Trump has developed its game plan and is waiting for the proper equipment, munitions or personnel to be staged and ready. What is the end game, not sure. It is ashamed that President Trump has had soooo much crap thrown at him over the Iran mission. The man did the world a YUUUUGE favor. Every other president over the past 45 years has kicked the can down the road.

There is no viable long-term solution, because there will always be a remnant of the population that is radicalized against anything America or a Democratic State.

There is no plan, they're making up shite in reaction to Iran. Trump desperately wants a deal, but Iran doesn't.

Trump has been”kicking the can” down the road two weeks at a time in spite of his rhetoric. I don’t think he has a firm end game in mind. He just wants the whole thing in his rear view mirror.
If we want a definite end to 1)Iran’s nuclear program, 2) their missiles or 3) their sponsoring of terrorism, we will have to undertake a full scale ground war. Are you ready for that? The JCPOA had contained their nuclear program with mandatory inspections, but someone in power tore up that agreement.

…and create a humanitarian crisis that once again floods the West with Muslims…
W and Obama effectively killed Europe and parts of the US, like Minnesota, but creating mass immigration to the West because of Iraq, Afghanistan and the Arab Spring (probably Obama more than W).
Trump is going to make that look like child’s play.

This would not surprise me in the least.
October may be too late though. How about after Labor Day?

All the downvoters are funny. Look at this thread as a microcosm - 400 different opinions and we can’t even agree on one
Trump got cucked and he should just admit it and try and move on to save face.

I really thought the people would have risen up by this point. They had wide spread demonstrations less than 6 months before the war began so I figured they would be going crazy by now.
"Death solves all problems. No man, no problem."
The regime killed tens of thousands of those protesters. They didn't have to kill them all, just enough to take the spark out of the whole. Our delay, however warranted it was, caused us to miss the window to capitalize on the public solidarity. The regime now only needs to kill a few to keep the masses mostly in line.
Given the fact one of the main guys we are negotiating with — Ghalibaf — has been a regime hardliner who has advocated for the continued heavy-handed response to protesters, there's no wonder why it doesn't instill confidence in the masses. We chucked the idea of "regime change" very early on in the process and haven't looked back.

Look at what Iran is doing right now.
It’s almost like they’ve been invaded by a foreign country. What would you expect them to do?

I think the ‘hearts and minds’ objective went out the door when we bombed a school full of children.
Imagine if they did that to an American school? What would your reaction be?

My end 'goal' would be:
1. De-nuclearize Iran for good.
2. Facilitate a regime change
3. Take control of the Strait from Iran, have a multi-national force protecting passage.
