Little young if he was, I was also born in 55 and the war was winding down in 73. The draft ended soon after.....

I bet someone gives you a charity answer before you find a clue.

Seems like the media is fricking it up, not him. Show me where he's claimed to have fought in Vietnam, and I'll believe it.

at a bunch of cowards calling out a Marine for his service.

Damn it, why couldn't he have claimed to be a Seal?

Because claiming to be an aquatic animal is stretching the realm of believability even for him...Duh!

Even though the US pull out had commenced in 1969, REPLACEMENT personnel were still ROTATING "in country" up until 1975, when the embassy was evacuated by US servicemen.

[/quote] You see, he could have been...not saying he was, but possible. And really, he should see a VA dentist if he was a legit Vet.

I cannot find this anywhere. The closest he came was when he said he was a Vietnam "time"vet.

I did find a muffeled interview where did claim Vietnam Vet status.

Uses the term Vietnam Veteran to describe himself at about the 1:02 mark and says something about a year and half in Vietnam.

Several military blogs are going after em and running down his service background. You're welcome to go on those sites and call them cowards.

I remember him from my time in Nam. We were there together in NaN Chang in 72. Was a helluva tour for both of us. Especially for me since I wouldn’t be born for another 2 years. Regardless, we were there together, me an unborn twinkle in my dads eye and him a 16 yo NA banging a little drum. He walk right up to Charlie and get in their face while banging his drum and they would just be stupefied. They couldn’t move a muscle and all they could muster was a vague facial expression, like a smirk. Craziest thing you ever seen.

From my Twitter

Vietnam-era vets would have served during a ~19 year period from '55-'75.

I figure if Phillips spent just 1 week anywhere in the theatre there, that would be 1/1024th valor. Sounds reasonable.

Does it really matter if he really is a Combat Veteran?

I love, respect and appreciate the military, first responders and Veterans.

Serving ones' country does NOT preclude a person from being an a-hole (McCain,Kerry,etc.).

Past glory does not forgive present sin, so no matter WHAT this guy may have done 40-50 years ago, he is STILL a piece of zhit who decided to accost some kids who weren't bothering anyone.

I wish I could hear it better.I believe he claims those are the years he served and he says something about a year and a half in Vietnam.
I think he said "in Vietnam" but can't make it out
