You mean by suppressing votes/voters? Oh, that's right, it's already happenning from the right.

He's done that. But trying to balance the right to protest versus using a stick to stop violence is a lot more delicate process than people realize. The left is taking advantage of that line.

Trump has already indicated he would love to. But he needs the mayor or governor to ask.

Much of what you suggest would create at the very least a constitutional crisis about the power of the oval office when it comes to domestic law enforcement.

I don't love the pace things are happening at, but learn from history what happens when a presidents broadly oversteps the power of his office.

Caution is wisdom in this area.

Bro putting cops around statues won’t do anything. Just have them literally take shifts protecting them.

He doesn’t need the fricking Mayor or DC to get rid of the CHAZ BHAC or whatever the new DC autonomous zone is. He can do that himself. He has full authority in DC.

Besides that alone would make him look weak specifically DC. Because it’s 1000 ft from the White House. Just end it.

I agree he should let mayors and governors deal with it in other states but DC he needs to put his foot in the ground that actually SHOWS he’s the law and order president. Instead of just tweeting.

Hell if he took action it would show other GOP leaders to stand up. But that’s what’s missing the GOP won’t act because trump isn’t acting.

Was he not smart enough to see this coming? We ALL KNEW they were going to do something like this. We elected him to make the tough choices, stand up to them, and break that system. Instead, it's gotten more brazen.

Did you ever see the movie "Colors" with Robert Duval and Sean Penn? Penn played a rookie cop working a gang infested area. Duval played his seasoned partner. Penn wanted to go in with gun blazing and arrest the gang members for any and every crime they committed.

Trying to give Penn some perspective, Duval told him a joke about two bulls standing on a hill looking down on a bunch of cows in a meadow. The younger bull says to the older bull "Let's run down there and screw one of those cows". The older bull says "No, let's walk down and screw them all".

The political corruption in this country was a long time in the making and it has deep roots. Before any real lasting changes can be made to the system, the corruption has to be exposed to the point that even the most easily manipulated can see it for what it is and even the most corrupt will have a hard time denying it.

Allowing the corrupt system to get more brazen might be exactly what is needed.

The left found a way to hamstring the whole country.

this is where Trump is failing. They know exactly who the agitators and coordinators of these riots are. They can easily pick them out of the crowd, keep tabs on them. Swoop them up early and often, and charge them with conspiracy charges.

But instead of doing that, Trump would rather just "sit back and watch the catastrophe", while hundreds of thousands of his voters are demoralized and intimidated by watching people beaten and killed, property destroyed, and nobody doing anything about it.

This is going to backfire so hard.

They call him that even if he does nothing. He is a nazi racist misogynistic homophobic fascist dictator no matter what he does because he’s a republican. Trump needs to just own the optics and f$&king ACT! He was elected because he didn’t give a crap about labels from the media. Why is he caring about them now?

One of the reasons these socialists have become so brazen is because they SEE THIS.

You know what else the Prog/Dim leftists see? All of us "conservatives" sitting on our asses whining and doing nothing. The conservatives in DC would be a little more attentive to our demands if we were as visible as the leftists are.

About 90% of the DC bureaucracy is made of deep state dems. That makes for tough sledding. Some of the most corrupt have been fired, but its a drop in the swamp bucket.

All of us should get a slap on the back for voting Trump into office.....we had no idea of the expanse and depth of the DC Swamp without a Trump presidency.

NOW WHAT DO WE DO??

He has done absolutely nothing. He cried about the lack of crowd at his rally but never once addressed why. Maybe it was because the mob was intimidating people outside and not letting them in. Maybe people are losing faith in him because he talks the talk but bone spurs can't walk the walk. He's the goddamn commander on chief but he's done nothing about the mobs or the attacks on innocent people and businesses. I'm sure he will post a strongly worded tweet and all the sheep will start sucking his dick again. These last few months our president has been a fricking embarrassment.

This is what's going on...he knows he has his base but there are many still on the fence and the current trend of the country is pushing a lot of people in his camp IMO. I think after he's elected, you'll see a much stronger President who will not hold back...MAGA !

Even if trump wins re-election, he’s gonna need a big 4 years to do something that has an actual lasting effect on the nation. If it ended tomorrow, he’d be nothing more than a flash in the pan.

What is wrong with some of you people? Trump believes in the American system, and there is a right way to do it. Everything goes through the courts or through Congress. You cant just sign an EO every time you dont get your way.

Hes brought more transparency to DC than any president I can ever remember. Theres a reason that people know how crooked Hillary, Biden, and every other politician that Trump brought to light. Yeah we know they were crooked, but Trump shined more light on them.

Hes appointed federal judges left and right

Hes appointed 2 SCOTUS judges that will serve a lifetime, and very possibly, if RBG goes, he will appoint 3.

That was a hot topic of the 2016 election, and needs to be a hot topic again. The only way to change the laws long term is to appoint conservative judges.

Nothing more than a flash in the pan? What a dumb arse statement.

I agree with your perspective but Trump and his advisors apparently don't want him to appear overbearing and dictatorial. And considering how radical the Democrats appear at this point, it might be a sound strategy. If you look at how things have played out with Covid-19 and the riots, the blue states aren't looking like they have handled either situation very well.

Immigration: oh yea, allowing infected people unhindered entry into our nation looks like a great idea for spreading Covid-19. Meanwhile Trump quickly called for no flights to and from China. Check

Covid-19: Yea, Como/N.Y. obviously managed the virus situation extremely poorly to the extent that Como realized that he didn't have a chance in hell of getting the Dem nomination. Meanwhile, Trump provided federal aid in a timely manner but left the game time decisions up to the individual state governors and the red state governors overall did a much better job than the heavily populated blue states. Check

Riots: Again most of the damaging rioting occurred in the heavy minority populated cities in blue states that have been managed by Democrats for decades. Trump made it clear that federal assistance is available to any of the states that asked for it; they didn't. Check

In the sea of ignorance that is the Poli Board, this might be the dumbest and most dangerous idea ever expressed here.
