I'm still trying to figure out the sudden shift against Russia by the Democrats.

I understand the old Neocon reasoning of Russian imperialism and aggression. That's the reason we have this alliance with European nations called NATO.
That's a legit reason. However NATO has been very effective at staving off Russian aggression especially under Republican presidents.
But historically speaking Democrats have never been this vehemently against Russia. There new found aggression started in earnest during the month of December of 2016 after Trump won the 2016 election.
Before the election Democrats were very chummy with the Russians. In fact the Democrat Lion of the Senate Ted Kennedy colluded with the Russians during the '80s in an attempt to defeat Reagan. Not only that, but under Obama Democrats welcomed Putin into Crimea. Albeit Crimea is 80% Russian and wanted to be annexed.
Democrats are you really mad at Putin and Russia because John Podesta fell for a phishing scheme by Russian hackers or are you afraid that Putin will expose the bribes and malfeasance under the Obama administration during the Iran deal?

I like this. I'm going to use it in daily conversation as appropriate.

Gumbo, your history is way off. Democrats have been hawks in the past: Kennedy, Johnson, et al, were very strong in their stance against Russian aggression. Same with Clinton, for that matter.

"It was Obama's fault that Russia invaded our ally Ukraine, but also Russia was totally justified! Obama should have done more to stop it, but also supported Russia in doing it!"
The cognitive dissonance is strong with this one.

The TV told them to hate Russia, so they hate Russia.

Odd you omitted Barack the benevolent.

Because they lost and need someone to blame. Who is going to call out their hypocrisy in the MSM?

FDR caved in to Stalin in the 40s.
JFK did stand up to them in Cuba.
Carter was not much,
Clinton seemed to be OK.
Obsma let the Bear loose.

Yes but I think if he did that then it's just another silly thing for the left to blame him for. "Look at that orange idiot! Bullying our foreign allies. We love u Putin!"

I'm still trying to figure out why they came out with the 12 indictments at this time, right before the meeting, when they could have done it a year ago.

Just four short years before, the mere suggestion that Russia was the greatest geopolitical threat to the US was quite literally laughed at and mocked by the sitting US President (a Democrat). So in four years the Russians went from a joke to the cold war era USSR powerhouse? And they did so without the US President and his administration noticing anything whatsoever? If they were a joke in 2012, but a "threat to the core of our democracy in 2016", then what the frick happened? And how did apparently NO ONE in the Obama administration of Russia's reemergence as a world-wide threat?
That narrative COMPLETELY changed when the unexpected happened...Trump won the presidency.
It's nothing more than a projection by the democrats to justify a result none of them dreamed was imaginable. They simply could not and still cannot fathom the idea that a significant chunk of the country does not agree with their policies/message to the degree that they felt it was a better option to elect a arrogant millionaire/celebrity with no political experience at all. It's the ultimate "blame the referee" excuse for you being beaten by the other team

EVEN IF Russia hacked JP emails what does it matter if whats in the emails is true and there is rock solid evidence of treasonous activity by the DNC and the Obama Administration? The rest is just kids screaming that they got caught.
