Of course they know, but they don't care. MFers are shitting us about the opioid crisis without bringing up this goddamn fricked up foreign policy abortion.

That's because they, or the ones who control them, benefit from the situation.

Our whole justice system is fricked. When you do your time you should have a clean slate and a fresh start. Locking people up is very shitty, especially for non-violent crimes like doing some drugs

Sadly, our government has been involved in the importation of illicit drugs since Iran Contra during Reagan's administration and probably before. So frick Washington and their goddamn war on drugs. Let's be honest about the situation and allow open farming of the poppies here in the usa. American First. Right? Right now Afghanistan is exporting about $3 billion per year.

Some blue-hairs up in here against legalizing marijuana. Sad.

Regardless of the validity of your statement, there are strains of pot and CBD that can mitigate and possibly cure epilepsy that pharmaceutical drugs simply can't do.

You may want to change that to "non-violent drug users". The violence aspect will be a sticking point for many.

Yeah. I’m a big hater of all the crap I see about pot being a cure for fricking everything. What a joke.

Just legalize all drugs. It’s a civil liberties issue not a health issue.

I don’t care if marijuana is legalized. Don’t lie to people to do it. The OP seems perfectly fine pretending it’s got great medical benefit in order to get it legalized.

Need to bring back beer for 18 year olds.

These days they go right for the hard stuff which is a much easier way to die from alcohol poisoning.

Beer is a safer alternative.

Was appointed by ex-Gov Bentley to serve on an executive committee "opioid addiction and abuse", but quit as these paper pushers were ineffective bureaucrats.

Been pushing to legalize medical pot for a couple years. Tomorrow I get an opportunity to speak at a conference "From Silos to Solutions".
My three main suggestions:
A) Medical Pot
B) Ending jail/incarceration for drug users
C) Decriminalizing all drugs

Aim for the sun (decriminalize), get to the moon (medical marijuana). States with med pot have a 15-30% less overdose death rate, which would equate to between 120-240 less overdose deaths in AL last year.

Alabama is much closer than you would think at medical marijuana becoming a reality.

In 50 years, we will look back and think we were insane humans for using opioids for pain management and not marijuana. Every day that marijuana remains Schedule 1, is a crime against our fellow man.

Yeah, I don’t care about the medical benefits, or lack thereof, I care about wasting billions of dollars and throwing away lives to keep this from being a free country.

Amen.

And, I'll go one step further. One could make an argument that it is a crime against God's creation.
