Imagine saying this on a night where Boomers gave themselves another handout in Florida...

Be done with politics
Double down on sectarianism, TBH

Young voters hate boomers because we embraced capitalism and made our own way in this world.
By made your own way in this world you mean you had the easiest path to get a cheap college degree, cheap housing, good retirement and then pulled up the ladder behind you to make it harder for every generation after you to get the same.
Hate for Boomers is very much deserved.

They all can be bought, unless they are too rich to be bought, in which case they are the ones who are usually doing the buying.
Capitalism is a great economic system, but a lousy political system. I am with the OP on this one. I am too old for this shite anymore.

Probably. But they're burning it down because they're mad at boomers. So it's a self-perpetuating cycle.

No such thing. Every single politician is in politics for themselves.

I hate boomers and the silent generation for being stupid enough to believe Johnson and Kennedy telling them the Hart-Celler Act wasn't a revolutionary bill that would significantly alter the nation's demographics.
Now the grandchildren feel like strangers in what's supposed to be our own country every time we step out in public and we're forced to watch the Arab cashier argue with a sub Saharan African while waiting in line to check out at Publix every day. Not to mention can't go for a peaceful jog at night. Can't imagine what it must have felt like living in a mostly homogeneous high trust society where the only division was what football team you cheered for.
But my generation is also filled with submissive pussies as well who will literally risk their lives to protect Neanderthals that hate them.

Thanks for letting us know. We were all wondering.

Import the 3rd world, turn into the 3rd world. There's really nothing except for drastically altering the demographic trends in the country that republicans could have ever done to ensure their long term success anyway. Trump 1.0 and 2.0 were both just kicking the can down the road but this was going to happen eventually anyway.
The masses from south america, the middle east and india will never share the same values as traditional Americans and only see this country as a piggy bank to be robbed blind.
The real losers are the children of Americans who've been here for generations, both white and black, the hoards mentioned above will not be kind to them.

quote:
cheap college degree
Absolutely a fair statement. College tuition costs have outgrown the historical cost of goods increase, by a huge margin.
quote:
cheap housing
First off, I wouldn't say housing was "cheap" 40 or 50 years ago, relative to the average income. Maybe somewhat easier to attain...but what do we have today that wasn't available back then? People carry a $1,000 phone...have gym memberships, Door Dash subscriptions, $100,000 cars. If you're able to give up all the crap that people need (!) today, a house might be more affordable.
quote:
good retirement
Why did "good retirement" plans fail? Eventually, you run out of other people's money. Now I don't mean that as a pejorative to those that worked hard their entire lives and contributed...I'm saying that eventually, that plan gets top heavy and collapses.
quote:
pulled up the ladder behind you to make it harder for every generation after you to get the same.
Can you explain this statement? Who "pulled up the ladder"? If by that you mean you don't have access to things like a good retirement plan, it's hardly "pulling up the ladder" if the plan isn't working.

Great to hear. Have a good time.
We will take care of you while cleaning up your mess.
Just relax. You’re right. We got it.

Just one more piece of advice. Capitalism has created the best nation on Earth while socialism and communism has never worked.
Crony Corporatocracy is cavorting about, masquerading as capitalism. Therein lies the problem. Capitalism looks bad when the current version of it is misinterpreted.

I’m done with politics.
Yeah I feel ya. Voting straight ticket Republican for the rest of whatever remains of my life just because the Left has gone so far off the edge (and I used to be a Democrat) but nothing will change until the Republican Party becomes actually conservative again.

Might have 30 years before I kick the bucket.
Hopefully about the same here, if I'm lucky. If the Dims end up moving to confiscate arms, that timeline will become expediently truncated.
