I am old enough to remember when Antifa literally stood for “anti-fascist”.. until the far right co-opted it and made it into a slur … Just like they did with Woke, which used to mean a good thing- ie being awake and aware of what is going on, not being a sheep with your head buried in sand …. As a card-carrying dyed-in-the-wool ‘above it all’ Registered Independent (#humblebrag)- Can anyone make it make sense as to why the far right lunatic fringe has turned these into slurs ? Unless you are too lazy to try to explain it, in that case then simply just downvote away.. Or do both !

Ask xe to define “real”. Antifa has a symbol, a flag, a uniform, a centralized idea set, an organization with founded chapters across the country, a history, etc.

No, you aren't "old enough" unless you were around in Germany in the 1930's. Antifa has always been a communist organization, so the way modern people use it as a derogatory term is perfectly understandable. I mean, communists are terrible, so an organization of them would be terrible.
You also have the origins of "Woke" wrong. It is also derived from Marx's writings, but instead of being awoken to class conscious as Marx wrote, you are awoken to your intersectional identity and where that places you on the victimization pyramid.
