Most people cannot be trusted to work remotely on Taxpayer dollars.

The problem is that FedGov has scattered all kinds of operations to wherever congressmen decided to put them. You're not going to have a lot of high level talent that says, "Yeah, I'll leave DFW for Huntsville, AL."

I agree that most people can't do remote work properly, but it takes good leadership to develop effective metrics to measure actual productivity and replace the ones that can't.

TLDR: I was a piece of shite and never learned and now I still refuse to learn. Please feel sorry that I'm a sack of shite.

You have to really frick up to get discharged and it might be a general discharge for failure to adapt which means even McDonald's won't hire you.

I was a sack of shite when I joined the military but I learned to either do my job and keep my mouth shut or continue to frick myself. You either change or the military will do what it did to you.

I feel for your situation but there seems to be a few things you can do now to improve your situation

What’s the deal with the family member? Is the person elderly or disabled and needs care? Or is it an addiction situation? If the former can you move the person with you to a better area with more opportunities? If the latter, then you need to forget him/her and deal with your own problems. It’s not your battle you can’t let that person drag you down with them.

If you have heart problems you need to stop buying frozen pizza and chips. Buy bulk dry goods like beans, rice, potatoes, frozen vegetables, cheap cuts of meat like chicken. You can make a big pot of gumbo or jumbalaya for real cheap and eat on it all week

Have you looked into jobs online with work from home options? There may be a way to have supplemental income and not need a physical job to go to in your area.

But most here have no issue with those who actually need assistance. It’s the ones who choose to abuse it or make it a lifestyle without even trying to work

If what you said is accurate, it indicates you were punitively discharged because you don’t mention any va benefits you would usually qualify for.

You either got an other an honorable or court martialed which means you probably did something incredibly stupid in the service. Your experience since sounds like that of a felon.

How about not apply for gov jobs and sucking from our $$ anymore than you already do.

Should be downsizing gov and you’re complaining here how you can’t find a job.

Agreed, which is why I make a reference to call centers which are able to check throughput of remote workers.

One major problem is that supervisors are the first to exploit remote work.

They usually have drastically more vague work than most.

Im WFH on Fridays, its really hit or miss, someday I can get in a groove and be really productive, some days I feel like I spend the day fighting network and deployment issues.

But we have plenty of people who get very little done and are full time WFH.

We have started switching those people to full time in office.

Its hard to figure out if someone is stuck because the problem is hard, because they arent any good, or because they arent working.

I had to review someone's code recently, it was really late, and it was a nightmare of probably never worked.

Hard to tell if it was a skills gap or a lack of effort.
In this case I'm reasonably sure it was bad coding practice, its all cut and paste blocks

I am sorry to hear of the hardships you have been experiencing. All suffering is for our good and teaches us things like reliance upon God rather than ourselves, if we have guidance by God’s word and Spirit. If you aren’t already, I suggest going to a Christian church and plugging in there. Your first priority is your soul, since when we die, our souls will go on until the resurrection, and suffering will not end is we have rejected our creator and the gift of everlasting life He offers us through Jesus.

Trust in Jesus Christ for the salvation of your soul through the forgiveness of your sins, then you should seek help through the church.

He posted that nonsensical novel at 0314.

Do you think he found a 24 hour library, or maybe broke in? We may need the library detective from Seinfeld to chime in.

Sure, he could have.

He doesn’t have a job. Hasn’t had a job. Is entirely dependent on a bit less than $300 SNAP money monthly for food. Lives in a crappy area with no job prospects.

Yet he has a cellphone with internet access, found this site, made a login and signed in, made up a bogus story, and from reading the replies has obviously found a few people stupid enough to believe anything he says.

I want a job.I have a family member that I help. When I'm not around things go downhill. When I had a job here, just being at work was enough time for things to gradually decline. … I want a job. … I go stretches without even attempting to look for work. I've been writing some books to self-publish … I have to edit then I can publish.

So you really don’t want A job, you want a stay at home job. There’s no point in applying since you will quit it soon after starting it. Your self publishing could turn into a job, but odds are extremely against it becoming a living wage profession. But you do have time on your hands while helping this family
quote:

SNAP is close to $300 per month for an individual … [and] is enough for one person if you don't go for high quality. … I purchase zero sugar soda. I will purchase things like frozen pizza. I don't purchase candy that much. … I bought them [potato chips] because of the economics

Wow. Just wow! You complain about quality while buying frozen pizza. Obviously you have access to a way to cook said pizza. Now perhaps you’re stupid, but your writing argues against this, perhaps you’re unaware that with the communication device you used for this impassioned plea you can look up a pizza recipe. Buy flour, salt, onions, green peppers, mushrooms, ground meat, sausage, a can of pizza sauce, and cheese (on sale $4 to $6 a pound). Make your own healthier and high quality pizza for less than half the price of frozen.

Don’t buy chips, buy potatoes (cheap) and vegetable oil. Fry sprinkle with salt, and you have healthier chips at a fraction of your sale priced commercial chips.

As noted above, you have time on your hands while caring for family member. You have $300 free Big Daddy Government dollars for food. Only stupidity, ignorance, or laziness will have you eating cheap frozen pizza when lower cost but high quality fresh pizza is easily made.
quote:

I don't want the govt getting in the business of micromanaging your life

Well parents micromanage their children, and since you depend upon Big Daddy Government you should be micromanaged too. You obviously are incompetent to survive on free shite hand outs. There should be no free soda, chips, or rotisserie chicken. Buying a fresh chicken for $2-$3 dollars and baking it in your frozen pizza oven is better use of working American’s tax dollars than a $6 rotisserie chicken!
quote:

I have seen it suggested that we should go back to govt cheese and so forth, as if that will serve as punishment or motivation to get off SNAP. I can't speak for everyone, but for myself, that would not motivate me at all. My life already sucks. Making me pick up a box of cheese doesn't move the needle. What motivates me is the desire to live normally once again. There is a BBQ place about 1/2 mile from here. I can smell it during the day. That is motivating

Well aren’t you a special little snowflake. You have no motivation to support yourself, because you’re living good on the taxpayers’ sweat. I bet real starvation without soda, frozen pizza, and chips would motivate your entitled lazy arse to get a job and buy your own BBQ.

But even now your unmotivated, demoralized, lazy arse could make BBQ in your frozen pizza oven with some raw chicken, beef, or pork with some BBQ sauce, or even better, homemade BBQ sauce!

Get the frick out of my face you lazy arsed, self sanctimonious, entitled bastard who’s probably cashing his family member’s government checks!

Oh by the way, thank you for your service, and man up like you learned in the armed forces.
