Don't know the number tested, and no doubt many test positive. but there have been no autopsies to establish the cause of death for these people.

13 of the 26 tested positive, I believe. The remaining 13 didn’t get hospitalized so they weren’t tested (that’s the assumption I’m working under anyway).

I’m not sure why you’d do an autopsy on an 80 year old who tested positive for Covid 19. She didn’t die from wrecking her bike in Sturgis.

You can't say that it has a mortality of 3-4% and that is totally irresponsible to make a statement like that.

Listen, pal. He read the footnote on that meme. Who are you to question his understanding of the subject?

I don’t think anyone knows for sure. It wouldn’t shock me though.

If EVERY American over 65 got the virus and the 15% death rate amongst that group held, you are talking about around 8m deaths.

You can't be this dumb, as more people get tested, that rate will come WAY WAY down.

He said he was a PA. He/she just thinks he knows wtf he's talking about.

You're not sure why?

The nation has been plunged into a state of panic (and defacto martial law) based largely on the unknown cause of these deaths at a Washington end-of-life nursing home.

I appreciate the info sir. Unfortunately, the folks here are more worried about whether Donald will lose points than about their older loved ones.

Why are the numbers so disparate across countries? In many countries, the numbers look like the flu. Is it government action, climate, quality of healthcare / overall population health, different strains, fewer "carriers" or luck?

In a handful of others, the numbers totally skew the overall numbers up (including the US somewhat so far).

What do the overall numbers look like if you throw out China and Iran? Those are in large part 3rd world countries. Speaking of China, recoveries there are starting to greatly outpace new cases, aren't they?

Out of the numbers by country I have seen, Italy, Spain, and France numbers worries me the most.

I respect your opinion as a medical provider, but Dr. Drew Pinsky is a liberal MD, and he would say you are overstating the risk. 2 guys opinions, I guess.

ARE YOU frickING SERIOUS?!!

What more, in terms of tangible action, could you possibly be expecting? As it stands now, large portions of the population are panicking. Need to see more of that?!

So you think they had Covid 19 and died from something else? I hear more fascinating stuff on here than anywhere else.

im Watching the liberal news and so far they are only saying the only way to stop this is test it. I’m not sure I’m following that logic. How about if you have corona symptoms and/ or been around someone that has -stay home. Why do u need a test? Seems stupid

Because they want panic and they want the hospitals inundated.

There is NO REASON to go to a hospital unless your symptoms are not manageable at home. Viral infections have to run their course.

The average age of death is like 80 years old. You’re a fear mongering piece of shite. I’ve never seen a bigger overreaction to anything in my life.

I spoke with my own provider this evening. She thinks this is all being blown way out of proportion to what it really is. You’ll just have to pardon me if I trust her judgement over yours.

Isn't it contagious even if someone isn't showing symptoms?

While I appreciate your point to be fair if I want to know the statistical Outlook of something like this a medical provider isn't who I'm going to ask

If I need to know how to care for the disease that's who I will ask. If I want to project numbers and detect missing variables that's not who I will ask
