No, the alternative is DOING NOTHING.

They never were a primary trading partner, in fact they kept us at arms length. They did not want to sidle up to us, militarily or economically. Even if they did, they were so corrupt it wasn't worth it for us. They were only good for enriching politicians vis a vis corruption.
That was old Ukraine when it was run by Russian puppets NOT the way it has been for over a decade now. That's like saying we should not support Hungary because "for years it was part of the Russian sphere" or something like that.

Meh. Russia hasn't been a thing for almost 50 years. And that's IF they were ever a thing at all.

Impossible when his son was neck deep in the middle of the corruption.

You have been told that by midwits who cannot think beyond the transitive. "I hate Biden. Biden helped Ukraine. Therefore, I must hate and demonize Ukraine." Ukraine is no worse than at least half the ocountries on this planet, and better than very, very many of them.
If Ukraine disappeared as a country this afternoon you’d never know unless you saw it on the news. My level of care about Ukraine matches my level of care about Gaza…zero.
If Europe was so hellbent on stopping Russia they would’ve quit buying oil and gas from them.
People on both sides are dying every day. Time to stop the dying, time to stop pumping time, money and resources into a futile effort. Just read another article a couple of days ago about more Ukrainian theft of our tax money.
Those of you who feel so strongly about it are welcome to go join the Ukrainian resistance, they welcome having extra cannon fodder.

I read that The Ukes are freaking out because they have been stealing money from the approved warfunds. The chickens about to home to roost.

Putin won. You cant ask him to give up territory.
Do you want to send IS troops to try to force him out?

You can't really approach it like accounting.
Let's put it this way.
One story, when I just arrived in Eastern Europe almost all countries had some embassies up and running but America was a few months behind, and you got the pallapable sense that when the American Ambassador arrived, then "diplomacy and international relations can finally start".
Another example, English and only English is the official language of the skies. NO other language is allowed. Not even on domestic flights. In other words in fricking Cambodia if a plane is flying from point A to B the pilot and airport and overall air traffic control will speak English, even if they can all much better communicate in their local tongue.
Go to any port, harbor, airport, even in the remotest of areas and you will see signs in English. Virtually every restaurant (not literally every one but almost) will have a native language menu and an English one.
This is done not because of some residual influence of England or some influece in Asia of Australia, this is all because of America. Make no mistake even today Iran and Russia and China fear us. If they did not we would have been "Ukrained" decades ago. We are the country of John Wayne, US Marines, Hollywood, Freedom and Capitalism (why the hell do you think we have people wanting to come here and not all that many wanting to leave?). Our standard of living is MUCH higher than just about any country except for the few that pump oil but even then, do you really want to live in Dubai? Go to any country, turn the dial on the radio and Taylor Swift or Aerosmith will come on.
If America were to give this all up because of a lack of financial discipline and people such as yourself not realizing what we are giving up, I don't know what to say. 200 years from now kids learning history will ask their teachers "America had all this wealth and influence and soft power and hard power and was generally admired, why did they give it up" and I doubt there will be an answer.
This would be 100 times dumber than Jimmy Carter giving up for no damn good reason the Panama Canal.

Send your kids to fight then.
Then help me understand why we are giving a "security guarantee" to Ukraine in this deal.
Would not that put American soldiers(kids) at risk in case someone decides to invade Ukraine.
I thought we did not want to be the World's police anymore.

Another point.
America went to Russia and came up with this thing and now is presenting it to Ukraine as "the peace deal".
Instead, why didn't America go to Ukraine and come up with something and present it to Russia as "the peace deal"?

If we are not the worlds police, someone else will be, China or Russia or North Korea or Iran.
We definitely won't want that. The US cannot be Switzerland and think the world will settle down.
That is more naive than the naivete show by disarmament people in the 1980s. "If we just give up our nuclear weapons, maybe Russia and others will too and we will all live in forever peace". That's not going to happen.
