Local commercial construction company has been blasting the local radio stations with commercials about they are hiring every position from project managers to bricklayers. I know one of the owners and he was telling me it is so frustrating trying to fill their hiring needs.

All I know is that when I drive out of my neighborhood every morning and see the lawncare guys out cutting grass in the neighborhood... they are all now white and black people and not a bunch of Mexicans. If that is a racist observation then feel free to call me a racist

The entitlement of Democrats
Yep. They basically destroyed the whole notion of “entry level” jobs in place of the absurd idea that EVERY job must pay a “living wage.”
We are suffering the consequences of this far and wide.

If you are expecting citizens to work for illegals' wages, you are gonna be a professionally unsatisfied zip-recruiter checker.

Illegals do jobs for a wage Americans will not .

am perfectly fine with folks not taking these jobs as long as there isnt public assistance to carry them. But currently, there's a boat load of construction jobs available that pay well, and these people you support here arent taking them.
Won’t or can’t?
Most construction jobs require skills which most young white men have not been exposed to in a generation or two. If you’re expecting the son and grandson of an advertising executive who grew up in the burbs to just go start working as a framing carpenter or drywaller you are simply not being realistic.

I can generally shut up a Democrat pretty quickly on this.
“Who will pick our vegetables right”
EXACTLY is usually the response.
“And the cotton too?”
They have no answer at all to that. Storming off is the usual reaction.

Americans will do all of those jobs, we just won't so it for slave wages
A lot of the illegal immigrants who are working construction, lawn care and other labor type work are living 2-3 families in a house. They are living in $200-400K homes and splitting the expenses......living the American Dream.

My brother: "We need to hire some illegals. Can't find any help."
Me - "What are you paying?"
Him - "$20 an hour, but nobody will work for $20 an hour."
Me: "How many do you need and are there any benefits?"
Him: "4. Nope."
Me: "Find you a literate Mexican who speaks good English and has a good grasp of building to code. Tell him you'll pay him $90 an hour and use of a company truck to be a contract foreman but tell him he needs to hire and keep a 3 man crew and pay them directly, himself. What he keeps out of that $90 is up to him and the deal he can make with the other 3."
Him: "But that's more for 4 employees than I'm budgeting."
Me - "Yeah, but you still have to supervise them. That's got to be factored in. What's your time worth? Do you speak Spanish? Last time I checked, you couldn't. Also, they wouldn't be your employees. They'd be the contract foreman's employees, saving you on workers comp and FICA. Also, with the company truck he can pick up his crew and hit the job early, meaning you aren't dealing with late employees."
Him - "You know what? That's a great idea. How do I find this guy?"
Me - "Go talk to one of your roofing buddies. He'll likely know what to do, or..., just go ahead and up your pay $25 an hour and continue struggling to find new employees."
So, anecdotally, evidence does seem to indicate that citizens are not willing to work for $20 an hour doing light construction. Maybe upping it to $25 is the answer and he can hire US citizens.
I asked him why people haven't been willing to work and he said it's a combination of government checks and meth.

The American Dream is for citizens and legal immigrants.
Absolutely agree.
I'm just telling you what's going on. Imagine the glut of homes on the real estate market if all the illegals packed up and went back to their country of origin?

$700k houses are being thrown up left and right and the quality is absolute garbage. So you have to ask yourself where the money is going. It sure as shite ain’t in labor costs and materials haven’t spiked that much.

Should we go back to chattel slavery, then? That labor was free. Imagine how cheap the goods would be then!
Are there any further lies and positions you want to attribute to me?

That’s a misrepresentation. Immigrants, illegal and otherwise, make good money working as welders, fitters and other construction jobs. We CANNOT find enough Americans to do these jobs. Now, surely we could if we hiked the pay enough, but we’d have welders making $150,000 per year for 40 hour work weeks. And I don’t want to hear your disagreements unless you have been in the trenches trying to hire.
