We are paying it as premium already and some people are getting very rich off of what we pay. Would seem to be more efficient to cut out the profit center of health insurance. That would free up more of our premium for the providers and maybe bring the consumer insurance cost down.

Anyone wanting to give the goverment any more taxes is quite frankly, an idiot. They are basically setting your current tax money on fire as we speak and you want to give them more?
They raised more tax revenue this last quarter than any time in history and only raised their spending.
Again, anyone wanting to give the government a penny more than they are currently stealing from you, is an idiot.

The tax cut for the rich comes out of the us treasury.

Prioritize.

Let me know the day we can individually select where our tax dollars go.

The American health care system is mediocre and it goes before Obamacare.

Mediocre in what way? People come to the US for medical treatment in many cases, and the US is home to large drug manufacturers.

Lol. So the answer to complexity is to let the government meddle in it??? When has that ever worked out well?

Capitalism drives innovation and efficiency, not government... at all.

Ok? So...

I think a better way of phrasing it is "I would be glad if our government took some of our tax money ALREADY PAID and shifts it to healthcare instead of frivolous programs we don't need."

No one is stopping you from paying more
In reality you are just lying because what you really want is to use the governments gun to force the rest of us to pay for it

Better idea: Join a sharing ministry. Donate as much extra as you like. Then you'll be paying for others to receive the care they need, but won't have the government denying anyone the right to make their own decisions.

Their "deal" is they should set prices while others should maintain current standards and availability.

So for the third time . . . .

How much should a surgeon be paid in that system?
Just curious.
