Could you honestly tell me how that would affect you in your day to day life? Infrastructure here would still be falling down, our southern border would still be overrun, crime would still be rampant, etc......

My only concern with that scenario is whether we are going to have even more trouble getting chips put of Taiwan or not.

So you don't have a problem with China grabbing 55% of the world's computer chip manufacturing from Taiwan? Reuben, you need to open your eye!

I would have two more reasons to believe in the inherent evil and stupidity of the Democratic party.

Are you truly this dense? If Nazi Germany had taken over, except for us, would that have really effected you? Hurr durr.

Maybe it's time we diversified our options if we can be held hostage by any one nation over production?

I dunno. Holocaust didn't affect my day to day life if I lived back then.

I would laugh at both. Russia wants to add to its problems by taking zukraine and China would sacrifice a lot of military to take Taiwan
In the end neither country is worth the other's sacrifice.

Hell, yes it would affect my daily life. China would have us by the balls. Many other nations around the world would leave the US sphere for the Chinese sphere. The Yuan would probably become the world’s default currency. This would impoverish ordinary Americans. You have no friggin idea.

The remarkable thing about our democracy is that it has lasted so long with universal sufferage extended to people as ignorant as the OP.

Hopefully it would cause our “leaders” to build new refineries and microchip facilities.

Tomorrow may not be different? But 5 years? 10 years? 50 years?

If you have kids, you should want Russia/China to be held in check.

I live in Taiwan so if it were to happen, my life would change a lot, haha. For people living in America, TSMC is the largest producers of semi-conductors. Chinese made semiconductors are crap so you want China to have Taiwans too? They have no idea how to make them properly so you better hope the taiwanese people making them survive and make it to America. USA also buys lots of goods from Taiwan. Taiwan is also one of the largest buyers of USA arms so thats a loss. Also, if China takes Taiwan, they will have an opening to the Pacific and then they will do what they are doing now which is turning small reefs into airbases and claiming the waters to further their territory. Without Taiwan, they will start putting airbases closer and closer to Hawaii

The experts are predicting, other countries in the china sea would be in danger, trillions of dollars of trade go thru that’s area, if China was to go to war and defeat our allies , the effect on our economy would be harsh, there is also huge oil and gas , Taiwan has become an important U.S. partner in trade and investment, health, semiconductor and other critical supply chains, investment screening, science and technology, education, and advancing democratic values.
