Honestly by 1941 the board was pretty much set due to the terms of surrender after World War I. After Japan chose to bomb Pearl Harbor there was no choosing.
What I would have done was give the western countries favorable terms after World War I so as to try and prevent World War II... Except Turkey. I would have stepped on its neck.
... But the arc of history is a funny thing. Russia and the former Warsaw pact nations may be the only reason why Western Civilization survives the next century.

Given that one member of the Axis attacked the United States and another declared war on the United States, I think the answer is pretty easy.

Very good point about the bombers, maybe we are better served sending more P51s and 47s to Europe, and medium attack type bombers for when the time to deal with Ivan comes.
He will eventually defeat the Germans and if Stalin pushes west he would meet a US Army and Allies much better able to deal with him. Heavy Tanks. More and better Antitank weapons. Swarms of ground attack aircraft and superior fighter aircraft.
We deal with Chairman Mao too. He must never take power in China. After the Japanese surrender we make sure Chiang comes out on top one way or another.

2) day later Germany declared war on us
Who we sided with would stay the same. what needs to change is the power we gave the USSR. To get them on board with the UN, we gave them more votes and VETO power for life. We also gave all kinds of concessions to try to get them to join the war vs Japan. This led to the taking on Japanese territory north of japan, and Russian forces attacking Manchuria, and soviet forces occupying northern Korea (leading to the next war)
also, FDR stopping Western allied forces from entering Berlin, and dividing up the east to USSR (start of the cold war with east vs west europe)

The Allies. Why would I join the Japanese who committed atrocity after atrocity in China? Why would I makes allies out of the Nazis who committed one of the worst crime against humanity in all of written history?
ETA: The only thing I would have changed is our relationship with the USSR. I would have crushed them immediately after the fall of Berlin. I would have diverted all military assets from the east and west to hammer them into submission.

A small one.
A phone call. Done now?
Then another call to ambassador to japan.
Japanese would get one if they were not out of China by Tuesday.

I would have pushed them out of eastern Europe, using atomic weapons if so needed, and forced them to the negotiating table. My ultimatum? Depose Stalin and revert to republican democracy or face the wrath of a nuclear holocaust.

If I am President on December 6, Japan is in a heap of trouble. I'd have subs with working torpedoes trying to get in licks on that carrier fleet of theirs and my planes ready for their attack.
Not to mention those antique battleships well to the southeast of Pearl out of carrier aircraft range but ready to storm back and help repel an invasion attempt. I don't let Halsey's carriers anywhere near that Japanese armada. I swing them southeast of Pearl out of range of the Japanese planes but in range to help defend Pearl.
Mac Arthur gets orders that he obeys or gets ordered home. Willoughby and that crew gets fired anyway. Disperse your aircraft and prepare for invasion. Stockpile your supplies and food on Bataan as planned and not near the beaches. Fight to the last damned bullet, might as well as the Japanese will kill you pretty much anyway.
Advise Churchill to fire Percival in Singapore if he wishes to hold it. Do NOT sortie Prince of Wales and Repulse, but use them as artillery. Get as many aircraft to Singapore as you can' Absolutely fortify the land sided approaches as heavily and as soon as possible. Singapore can be held. Withdraw troops from Malaya into Singapore, supplies everything.
