Unless you think God will smite DC with the 7 plagues I don’t think prayer alone will fix things.

Too many people pray for things to get better but fail to take action. That’s not what prayer is for. God is fairly hands off these days, this isn’t Moses leading his people away from Egypt. You pray for courage and guidance to do what’s right but you still have to take the action to make the change. You can’t pray “God save this country” then resume watching tv.

Prayer is for yourself. I'm not saving a nation by prayer.

I love Tony Evans, he recently did a couple of series on our role in voting and government, but I couldn’t help but think that that needed to be taught years ago to his main audience. Really other urban pastors need to teach likewise but either they’re scared of speaking up or skin color trumps what’s true.

This is what the enemy fears the most - when more Christians start waking up and instead of rallying and protesting in public forums, get on their knees in prayer - this is when change really happens.

One can do both.

GOD didn't give us brains to think, and able bodies to act, just so we could sit around and leave everything to Him. Sometimes man must be the instrument of GOD.

We can't just sit around and pray and hope GOD takes care of it all. We have to do our part too, or why even bother asking for help?

I haven't seen that.
It was well done to be one of those low budget "Christian" movies. It had a short run in the theaters (might have been the last time I stepped foot inside a cinema). Sure you could download it or find a dvd if interested. I would recommend it.

Pray for our nation and this world and ask God for forgiveness.

Christians don't pray for kingdoms on earth. This is the devils playground and he can have it. Where we're storing up treasures he and his minions will not be able to touch them or have influence over them.
