a 2024 survey of active duty military members found that only 27% of active duty soldiers identified as Republican.
19% Democrats, and the rest Independents.
So it could really go either way and might be a roughly even split.
And even if the majority of the personnel broke right, you still have to split the the equipment/infrastructure.

I'm all in favor but it's just too complicated.
This is mostly a rural vs urban issue which complicates things. But it would need to be 3 countries
Just give us the old southern states plus the midwest. Make northeast their own country. And West Coast gets theirs including Arizona, NM, NV. The middle gets everything else.
The problem is really purple states. Does PA go with the northeast or the southern/Midwest states.
First order of business for the Confederate states is to severely limit government handouts, add work requirements to etc. drive out those that don't want to work. Mass effort to clean up the ghettos/hoods.
Add trade schools (including Comp science) as part of K-12 system, but only for markets that are in need of labor.
We'd be the oil and gass center of the world and drag tech companies away from California. The northeast can keep their law degrees and flbig finance.

Free trade, free interstate commerce. Nato style military alliance.

Nope. I am not. There’s a huge reason why. How do you draw those maps? You can’t say California (Northern California is one of the most conservative areas in the country.) or New York (Outside of NYC.) goes to the left when the majority of those states are completely opposed to them. I was in upstate New York the week before last and it’s pretty. Normal people. Frick The Progressive Left. They get none of this beautiful country.
