Depends on how you define "candidate"

There have been a lot of very conservative primary candidates that never gained much traction.

He would certainly be the most conservative general election candidate if he gets the nomination.

Don't forget that Rand Paul was a republican primary candidate in 2016 and is more "conservative" than DeSantis (also depending on your definition).

I'm not against Trump or DeSantis. I hope one of them is the next president, but the way this has gone so far is bad for the country, the republican party and conservatives (and normal people) in general.

What did you think about Bush, McCain and Romney before Trump showed you who they really are?

Yes

That is the point!

Before Trump existed, I thought Romney and his POS running mate were awesome

I’m so embarrassed that just a short time ago, I thought that way.

Trump’s biggest accomplishment

Was exposing how corrupt and evil our government is

And in reality, our government exposed itself by its actions

You’re right, ignoring frickery seems like the best option.

The election process has been scrutinized like no other time. I would suggest that as a result, 2024 will be monitored like no other time in history.

If it isn’t, then your vote won’t matter.

That has nothing to do with your idiotic statement. You stated that if it wasn't for Trump, then Ron supporters would have supported Jeb. Ted Cruz was the frontrunner next to Trump in that primary so i don't know where you get this other than trying to show how little awareness you have.

Also, I can see why you don’t support Trump. You never liked him.

I voted for him twice, short bus. And i will pull the lever for him if he becomes the nominee. But, i prefer actual conservatives that have a track record of being conservative.

Most DeSantis fanboys are the same jaded Cruz/Rubio supporters

Wait, i thought we were Jeb supporters? You see, you dimwits can't even stick to a coherent narrative.

that reluctantly had to pull the lever for Trump,

If Trump had never existed we would have no freaking clue how corrupt the FBI , CIA , and DOJ are . We would also have no freaking clue how both dems and republicans are uniparty grifters . Now we know … and I for one am never going back

Agreed, it is all crap.

Trump is supporting the groomers at disney against Desantis. The whole "Desantis cost Florida disney jobs" narrative is bullshite, disney is bleeding money and Iger was going to cancel that project anyway. But now they are spinning it as a Desantis thing? bullshite.

So at this point, frick Trump. I am on the Desantis train 100%.

You don't have to ignore it. But making it your platform is a loser position. Adapt, overcome. Dont' bitch and whine for 3+ years and make no changes and expect a different result.

Same.

I'm so embarrassed to have voted for Romney and McCain.

I certainly wouldn't have voted for Obama, but I would've voted Libertarian.

I will ask this once again:

WHy in the frick should any normal person care about "loyalty" to Donald Trump?

Should a politician defer to Donald Trump forever if he endorsed them once 7 years ago?

How many elections would this person be required to defer for?

Haha. It’s 2016 all over again!

“We don’t know if he’s a true conservative”.

Just admit it. You pulled that lever because you had to. You never liked him.

Trump had the most conservative presidency since Ronald Reagan.

He has the Supreme Court so conservative that the democrats all talking about stacking it.

He appointed more conservative judges that any president in decades.

So move on? Adaptation at this point should more aptly called surrender.

That’s a hard pass for me.

Have the balls to call out that frickery, and don’t let up until you effect change.

Trump did the demo on the GOP, but he has no idea what to do next. Losing to Biden confirmed that, as did picking a mix of politically talented fakes (Lake) and complete and utter political jokes (Walker, Oz).

All of whom lost in a political environment that heavily favored them, obviously.
