Your post implies retirees are the beneficiaries

If that was the take away, I apologize. The current retiree generation was the last generation brought up expecting to see that money. That’s the difference.

Not gonna happen. In reality a lot of Americans who have paid into the Social Security system for 40-50 years will never see the payout they should have.

Deficit, not debt, and that's literally what's being discussed.

If you repurpose money borrowed in deficit spending, you're not solving the problem.

And I posted numbers involving the highest estimate of total federal waste/theft.

If you cut fraudulent payment from SSA, that reduces spending.

If you use it to pay down debt, you save going forward on servicing that debt, so that reduces spending.

Even if you spend it on other productive things, like infrastructure, it's going to something useful to the citizens, instead of going to a person who didn't qualify.

Depends which problem you want to solve, but why not cut waste/fraud? There can't be a valid justification for that.

You guys actually thought one of our elections was "stolen" so you guys proved that possibility quite some time ago.

Democrats cry foul every time you lose.

They are saying rt now, and not just in the internet, on msnbc and cnn, that Elon stole the election.

You remember rt after the election and the dems were short millions of votes? Instead of thinking those were fake votes in 2020, democrats said the votes were stolen in 2024.

They do need to reform SSI. That is a boondoggle of massive proportions.

Right.
If so, that is incredibly naive on the part of X, Y, Z's.

They'll see the money because Uncle Sam MUST BORROW IT, and Constitutionally he's obligated to pay back the borrow IAW terms of the borrow.

Which brings us to suppositions of SS """solvency"""......

SS "solvency" is a mere figment of Uncle Sam's determination of ROI (Hint: It's VERY low). Nothing more. The SSTF could be as solvent or as insolvent as Uncle Sam wanted to make it.

The lower Uncle Sam assigns ROI, the less "solvent" SS is. Think about that for a minute....

The less "solvent" SS is, the more Uncle Sam gets to demand as a borrow from Gens X, Y, & Z to make up the difference. You really think that program is going away?

Thank you for proving my point. It was never meant to be a forever program, never. And the theft by the government is why it is a scam. Appreciate you confirming what I was saying.

The government is only a scam because people don't keep their eyes on the till and hold their elected officials accountable. We get more caught up in stupid bullshite they use to distract us. The crooks keep us in-fighting over culture war bullshite while they rob us. People need to get woke on that, ya know?

Why even say that? I haven’t heard a single thing that makes me believe that cutting SSI is even a consideration. Why are you worried?

Nobody is saying not to do that.

What we're saying is even once that is done, we will still be running deficits and increasing the debt/future interest payments.

People hear "oh many DOGE found $50B!" and think that matters when it doesn't, in the big picture. The numbers now for 2024 report a 1.83T deficit.

There just is not enough money in the discretionary budget and waste in SS/Medicare to cover that 1.83 (and growing) number.

If we take the money that would be wasted and spend it elsewhere, then we do the opposite of attack deficit spending (because that money is the potential deficit savings)

Scoper...why you went and caught "the Stupid"? Don't fall for the rhetoric spewed by the losing party. Democrats, or should I say, Demwits love to poison the conversation with lies and the poor, uninformed souls like yourself fall fot their crap. In the words of Creepy Joe Biden, "DON'T".
