gambling, especially fantasy football saved the nfl
nfl game betting, office pools, fantasy football have been a boom, that other sports will never get
18/17 games vs 82/82/162
any retard can follow the nfl, and play fantasy football. you can auto draft, not touch your lineup and make the playoffs, and win, pending on team you end up with
playing nba/nhl/mlb fantasy sports, is a job, you have to keep track every day, not sunday monring

Honestly, why do you even care about the halftime show at all? Do you like football or do you like commercials and 9 minute concerts?
You may not like bad bunny, but you will have a hard time arguing against his popularity with people the NFL is trying to draw the eyes of.
I bet you know how to dance the macarena though....
Btw, this is virtue signaling

Will not be watching. The songs most his songs in Spanish. What would be the point since I don’t speak Spanish.

Never say never.

It would have easily been one of the highest rated halftime shows of all time.

The ratings for the halftime show will be abysmal when it could have been huge.
What will you say if this doesn't wind up being the case?

See the Grammy acceptance speech as an example.
Metallica may still be pulling in huge crowds. I don’t know, nor do I care, but for the audience the NFL is targeting, Metallica doesn’t do it. As much as I hate what the NFL has become, I’m sure they are experts (or at least think they are) at market research.
Good for you for committing to not watching the halftime show.

Give it time. Baseball was America'a favorite sport for over 100 years and look at it now. Destroyed by strikes, scandals, and fan boredom.

The 2025 World Series achieved significant viewership, with Game 7 attracting 51 million viewers across the U.S., Canada, and Japan, making it the most-watched MLB game in 34 years. Overall, the series averaged 34 million viewers, marking the highest global viewership since 1992 and a 19% increase from the previous year.

There was a major backlash against the NFL after Kap started kneeling for the anthem. They were taking on major damage to the brand and the ratings dipped and a lot of people stopped watching. It was all in the news at the time. After Kap went away they started to get some viewers back I know I was one of them. Now here they go again with another divisive act with all this political turmoil going on in the country. My main point on Metallica any was it was a safe pic. They would have got way bigger numbers without the controversy. You just want to argue. Half the country will tune out this arse clown tomorrow. There is only risk for the NFL when it didn’t have to be that way.

The irony is Metallica has played every continent in the world including Antarctica(You can fact check me on this) but never a Super Bowl Halftime. In a weird way I don't want them to lower their standards & actually play a Super Bowl by the NFL rules on how they should play it & take orders on what songs to play.

And not target a new demographic.

Doubtful. Anyone who would tune in for a Metallica show was already watching the Superbowl

Again doubtful. People either don't care enough to turn it off for 9 minutes or will tune in just to complain about it on Twitter (like you I suspect)
Either way, the few who do care enough to tune out will turn it back on in the 3rd quarter if they were watching at all...

You are glib.
Bad Bunny will get at least twice as many live viewers as Metallica woild
Bad Bunny will get at least 3 times as many live viewers in the key younger demos as Metallica would.

Look, I love Metallica, but:
...step outside your bubble some time. Very few people under the age of (and I'm being generous here) 35 would be "excited".

You’re pretty out of touch, homey
When this halftime show has the biggest ratings ever, will you admit to being wrong, or claim that the numbers are fudged?

white liberals will rejoice to the shitty music they can't understand in another language tomorrow. Those slapdicks don't even watch sports either

Bad Bunny and Green Day couldn’t draw a crowd that Metallica draws to day unless they added Taylor Swift to the lineup too.
He played Jerry World in 2022 and sold it out and set some kind of ticket records.
His average attendance on that tour was 44K - and that's because of venue capacity constraints, not demand.

It's truly weird how committed some of you are to declaring this guy isn't popular. He is. That doesn't mean one has to like him (I don't).
