Homosexuality is a choice.

You hit the crux of the homosexual question head on; Like all sin, it is ultimately a spiritual problem and challenge as a test of willful obedience to God (OR free willful choice to rebel.)

With respect to clinical Homosexuality, it seems to be either a Genetic / Hormonal flaw (MINORITY) -- as well as a learned/adopted behavior (MAJORITY.) The latter is what make recruitment so insidiously evil.

I would absolutely also include demonic possession in this equation.

Are you actually claiming hyper-sexualized recruitment by and of OTHER homosexuals isn't affecting society and culture at large??

I’ve got 2 gay cousins. Both their dads are manly men and their siblings are regular guys.

How do you explain them being gay? Do you think they’re confused, evil?

A) Flood of Hormones during gestation

B) Defective Genes

C) Abused or Learned / Adopted Homosexual Behavior

D) Rebellious Spirit

E) Demonic Possession

If you claim it’s genetic, you must also accept that a gene that makes you attracted exclusively to the opposite sex is an abnormality to discourage you from reproducing.

Is there homosexuality in other species? Sure but an individual organism that is only interested in the same sex will end the spread of that gene.

ETA. I don’t think it’s genetic. I think it’s a product of the environment and availability of sexual gratification based on individual disposition. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

It's likely that there is a genetic component but the phenotype is modulated by hormonal activity in the womb.

The reason gays still exist even though they can't reproduce is that it is passed on through the mothers side. It could be something the mother unknowingly does to their children while in the womb, or just something that is passed through the X chromosome - or both.

Mothers with 2 straight boys and 1 younger gay one are well taken care of. There's plenty of evolutionary benefit. The genders are constantly battling each other in genetics.

I know a set of identical twins. One is gay and one isn't. Explain that one.

I had a gay uncle who was ostracized from half his family. It was pretty sad and as I've spent years learning more about him, I can tell you with 1000% accuracy he would have never "chosen" to be like this.

By your logic, straight people having sex outside of marriage are also demonically possessed. If youre going by the Bible, it mentions sex outside of marriage and adultery (for heterosexuals) A LOT more than homosexuality. Throughout the Bible. I'm willing to bet not a single person commenting in this thread was a virgin on their wedding night!

Negative. There may be prenatal contributors. Modulation of phenotype extends far beyond that though. Again isolated twin studies speak to this.

Bible says if you find out your new wife is not a virgin you are to stone her to death. Prisons would be full

We generally think about this incorrectly, I think, visualizing it (“it” being same sex vs opposite sex attraction) as an either/or proposition, when it’s really a spectrum of preference.

So I don’t think people are “born gay”, born straight, or anything else, but I do think it’s undeniable that some people have inborn predispositions that later manifest as being further toward same sex attraction on the spectrum of attraction. That’s where cultural norms, life experience, trauma, etc come into play and cause or allow some people to make the unhealthy choice of adopting (and sticking with, after growing up) a lifestyle that acts as sort of a funnel which ends with them being fixedly “gay”.

Our particular society has gone so far as to laud this lifestyle to the extent that anyone who is ambiguous at all and who isn’t part of a more traditional subset is encouraged/pushed into homosexual choices.

Only found in 8 percent of gay male population, putting aside lesbians.

You and I have a different definition of strongly associate.

But you're always bending over backward to defend nonsense.

They are born gay, they just don't realize it until they are raped by a male relative

The more dogmatic folks get with sex/religion, the less enjoyable it becomes.

I've legit seen right-wingers on Twitter saying husbands and wives shouldn't get it on on Fridays/Saturdays/Sundays, or that too much sex (even consensual/with a spouse) summons "dark magic." I swear to God I'm not making this up

No one "chooses" any affliction.

My biggest problem is we don't try to help people with it or research ways in which we can.

Do we also try to help non-married, sexually active straight people with their "affliction"?
