Then it’s a genetic trait. And if it’s a genetic trait wouldn’t have evolution made that characteristic “extinct” since homosexuals would obviously be procreating less prolifically than heterosexuals?

Anyone care to explain this to me?

Homosexuality occurs in many species.

It’s not genetic.

If it’s a recessive trait it wouldn’t be. Same reason there are genetic diseases that kill children before they are able to reproduce

Isolated twin studies call that assumption to question.

people are born with mental illness and brain defects, chemical imbalances all the time.

shite look at these TRANS WHACKOS who instead of getting mental help rather mutilate themselves.

I guess you're technically correct but so called gay animals are not fixated on sex like homosexual humans and they're certainly not humping each other the way homosexual humans do.

Wouldn’t that just make it more likely for the homosexual gene to become extinct?

Certainly not a doctor but your explanation doesnt comport with my recollection of biology

If there was 100% a gay gene discovered and there was a genetic treatment to correct the genetic defect you would see the gay community and their Woke supporters lose their shite.

You are about 10 years late.

They had realized that there is no genetic way to "prove" homosexuality is a trait so that is why they went the gender-fluidity/gender-identification route.

I’ve always thought they MUST be born that way & can’t help it because I know I was born attracted to the opposite sex & there’s no way I would ever want to be sexual with the same sex. I don’t really know though-I just know in my case I couldn’t change even if it was “wrong”

What if men have evolved in such a way as to avoid women’s bull shite?

Look at this way, let's say that I have a propensity to gamble because I love it and it's addictive and exciting to me.

Do I blame my bankruptcy and broken household on the "gambling" gene?

Let's take it a bit further here. Let's say that I have a sexual attraction to animals, namely dogs. Is my engagement in sexual intercourse with dogs justified because I probably have a "zoophilia" gene or its due to some environmental factors?

Do you now see how all of this quickly spirals downward?

LINE IN THE SAND. MORALITY.

But the Left says, your Truth is not MY Truth... This does NOT work at all.

“Other animals do it” is the worst justification for behavior I’ve ever heard.

Lots of animals eat their young and my dog devours horse manure like it’s cotton candy. If that’s our benchmark for normal than we are fricked.

The research tends to indicate that there are a number of factors. Yes, there are a number of genetic markers that strongly associate with homosexuality. There are also indications that exposure to unusual hormone levels in utero may play a factor. It also seems clear that post-natal environmental factors can play a role. It seems that the genetic factors in particular may PREDISPOSE one to be gay, but they certainly do not mandate it.

Your question seems to be most-tied to the genetic element. If those markers were located on the Y chromosome and associated ONLY with male homosexuality, you might be correct and homosexuality would "die out" in a few generations. But the same genetic markers are also closely associated with a number of positive factors when present in females. I am not taking the time to find the data for you, but my recollection is that females with those markers tend to have (among other things) higher fertility rates.

So, the male homosexuals (obviously) are not passing those markers to the next generation in great numbers, but their straight sisters ARE doing so.

=================
EDIT

Here and here are a couple of summaries of the study, which seems to have been conducted in 2004.

They certainly do seem to indicate that genetics are not the ONLY factor.

There are many reasons people engage in homosexuality. Every other opinion is nonsense. I know two women who became lesbians after horrible abusive marriages. Both have kids. Knew another kid growing who we all knew would smoke pole when he was older and sure enough is a homo. He has two brothers both are straight as arrow. I’m sure these kids today on social media think it’s cool to be a ghey so they convince themselves they are and get the attention they are looking for.
