If anything, I think change presidential term to one term @ 6 years.

Yes, that’s true because the VP can run for 2 terms if he fills out 2 years or less. Since Johnson filled out less than 2 years he could run for 2 terms. Had JFK died prior to 1962 there would be a different calculation. I should have clarified that the 2 term limitation is about elections.
