Bernie has no way to pay for the insane things he is proposing except for boosting taxes to historic highs across the board.

You could tax the wealthy at a 100% rate and it still wouldn’t be enough money. Taxes would have to go up for everyone including the middle and lower class. It’s a recipe that has been disastrous every single time it has been tried.

Are you dealing with some kind of doctor shortage in your area? I can typically make an appointment and get seen the same day for non emergency stuff

You progressives love the Scandinavian countries despite the fact that they have nothing in common with the USA beyond the fact that they are populated by human beings.

For starters, Holland’s population is 17 million people, ~5% of the US’s population.

Every single one of those items would put a huge hurting on our economy, and if even half of them were implemented, would destroy it.

Plus the federal guaranteed minimum wage laws. how wouldn’t that lead to decades high unemployment and a ton of small business going under? We’d be a welfare state in no time if all these policies actually passed. Like Detroit on a national level. You know TDS dems will root for their own demise because they’d score a point against Trump since he said we’d never be a socialist state

per capita.

they have twice the mds per person.

they pay half what we do for insurance.

those numbers translate regardless of the millions.

Ok.

That isn’t the issue that impacts American healthcare and health spending.

The big issue is the American population.

Again, there is very little that is comparable between the US and Holland.

Let’s look at obesity rates:

The prevalence of obesity was 39.8% and affected about 93.3 million of US adults in 2015~2016.

In the Netherlands, it is about 20%, approximately half of the USA’s rate and a total population size of 3.4 million obese.

What doesn’t dawn on people like you, who have zero interaction with the medical field outside of going to your doctor, if you even go, is that the USA’s problem isn’t medical spending or health insurance.

It is our own citizenry.

When the ACA was passed and was actually functioning during Obama’s tenure, predictions stated that it would increase primary care, which would decrease ER visits and increase the health of our populous.

It did none of those.

We are not applicable to other countries when it comes to medicine because there are no other countries as brazenly unhealthy.

Others are catching up, but we are in a league of our own.

You want to help?

Stop pushing fat acceptance.

Go through my recent post history (3-4 weeks). The longer posts are the best for addressing your request.

Look for thread titles about why every other first world country has “free” healthcare.

My posts should suffice, but there were 8 or 9 people who posted in that thread that will provide all the ammo you need.

The problem you run into is this: free market capitalism > european socialism > chinese state capitalism.

The gop/coc has been promoting that last option as capitalism for so long that Bernie has an audience.

How about the fact that he admired the Soviet Union's dictatorship to the point of honeymooning there.

How about the fact that until very recently he praised the dictatorship of Venezuela.

How about the fact that this very week he defended and praised the brutal dictatorship of Fidel Castro.

This shows you where his mindset is.

If he has no condemnation and contempt for brutal dictatorships then the fact is that he approves of them.

And the fact that he approves of them means he won't have any problems employing brutality and thuggery if he comes to power here.

These facts should bother the hell out of any American.
