I'd be totally fine with affirmative action if it was truly equal.

What I mean is, I would be okay with a racial minority getting a bump in regards to hiring if that was a universal practice because blacks are not the minority everywhere.
In Baton Rouge, New Orleans, and Detroit for example, blacks are not the minority, whites are. If affirmative action was just, then a white applicant for a job in BR and NOLA would get the extra points, be the diversity hires, get the raises for being diverse, etc.

Afirmative action is one of many things in our culture that teaches us that racism is a neutral tool that can be employed for both good and bad ends.
Obviously if racism itself were morally wrong, we would not have affirmative action.

Nah. If you can prove racial discrimination for a job then that should be good enough. Forcing an employer to hire someone of a particular color is racism.

You can base it on economic circumstances. It is obscene that Lebron's kids will get preferential treatment over mine. I don't have that much of a problem with giving kids from shitty neighborhoods a couple of points on college admittance but there's no decent reason to tie that to race.
