I don't think it's so much we got duped as loads of Trump voters cast their 2024 ballot with their eyes wide open about his first term. That said, while disappointed with Trump II to this point, I'd take it a million times over Kamala I.

Can Americans not work back of house jobs in restaurants?

This is the strangest pivot on illegals I may have ever seen.
MAGA automatons still don't realize they are automatons.

If he came out in support of mass redistributing wealth in America, they would trip over themselves to support it

I could see the posts now:

"Obviously we just need to get back to a baseline so the free markets can work"

I mean, those generational wealth holders didn't earn it, daddy gave it to them"

It did take ICE 20+ years to figure out that Home Depot was where you could find a lot of illegals

MAGA goes from "draining the swamp" 2.0 to being reduced to that shite. This is what MAGA rallies around now.

i honestly don’t ever see illegals working in restaurants unless they are working in the back of the house as a dishwasher so i am not concerned about restaurants

So they’re not general managers? Who knew?

You are a dumbass if you can’t see my point.

My point is that those illegals are easily replaceable.

How do we keep these businesses afloat that took advantage of the previous administration’s policies?

Not to mention, it goes back beyond Trump’s previous term.

Basically, how do you ween them off cheap labor without ruining towns?

It's going to have to coincide with tightening disability, SNAP and other welfare qualifications that have allowed people to get by without working. Our labor force participation rate has been on a steady decline since the early 2000s.

I can tell you that every shingle roofer i see these days is a Mexican. Not sure they are illegal or not but its' a trend i've noticed since maybe Covid time. This is in the midwest. Also a new roof costs a fortune these days so i doubt the homeowner is saving anything. It's just the guy showing up to do the bid in a new f-350 platinum is taking a nice little cut. Amish do a lot of steel roofing around this area. What i've heard is they charge a set hourly rate (want to say it $30 or $35/hr but this was last summer).

If Trump deports a mere 10% of what he promised, it's still a win, provided the border is secured and the continuing invasion is ended.

Plus, even if you can somehow get MAGA to "see this", you still dont have viable alternative if you are a democrat. Whoever from the Republican Party vows to continue the Trump policies will be widely supported.

If you believe the number of illegals in this country is the baseline estimate of 11 million, then he'll just barely clear 10% before he leaves office. Assuming of course he continues to deport at his current rate.

But no matter. My only expectation was that he shut down the border, and he did.

mean seriously though, they're arguing " if I can't see them then they don't count"

Not me. I voted for mass deportations and that’s what I expect. Now I do understand this policy will negatively affect those businesses and I’m ok if Trump wants to give them time to find replacements but he needs to say that. Focus on all the rest now but when they’re gone then those workers will will need to go also. No amnesty whatsoever should occur

I swear this Administration is a damn see-saw. Miller wanting to ratchet up immigration raids one week,DJT dialing it down the next.

Those clips of ICE hunting down field hands in the damn field was the epitome of bad optics last week. So DJT pulls back.

I’m talking about removals. Not sure why you keep bringing up the irrelevant returns.
