I've come to this conclusion decades ago.
I have not referred to myself as Republican since Reagan. I only identify as a patriotic American.
I try hard to decide which candidate is the LEAST EVIL person and I vote for him. JFK and Carter have been the only POTUS candidate to ever make me think for more than a moment.
There are no redeemable Democrats that I am able to vote for. So I make my major decisions during the primaries. The general election has never required more than a trip to the polls - there are no honorable democrats left in the field by that point.
My constant rule is === Vote for the LEAST EVIL --- do NOT expect perfection - sometime don't even expect civility = it is only the magnitude of the EVIL that matters in this era.
