Don't you care that construction workers and farm hands were detained and deported?

The Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Department along with the surrounding Parishs provide security for the airport daily and TSA are responsible for the normal screening checkpoints. So no in this case at this particular location other than enhanced security ICE is not doing anything

I'm glad you're pro-slave labor. Good to know.

There is a legal pathway for people to come work in this country. Immigrants and employers should use it. People employing illegals should be fined and/or imprisoned. Especially white suburban women who get fooled into paying their housekeeper to not come to work because she was scared of ICE despite claiming to be a legal immigrant.

Well yeah, they're not trained to handle passenger screening. From what I've seen they're more there to give directions and look for potential illegals traveling.

I mean it doesn't hurt anything. Maybe discourages illegal aliens from traveling, thus reducing the number of people in line? They're probably also helping run security and as a deterrent in case people act out.

Tzimme4 just said ICE's job isn't to answer questions at the airport. Why the frick are you approaching ICE agents, citizen? Sounds like you need to be detained

Name some of the random shite you speak of
Monitoring entry/exit points into the secure area, random patrols theough the terminal as two examples I've personally seen TSA agents doing that take them away from screening activities.

How did we get from ICE/NG in the airports to transgender surgeries within 5 seconds of the same answer?

The ICE and guard should have been something that happened last week.
Perhaps if we weren’t busy doing the bidding of Isreal first this would have happened.
Also the media isn’t helping by now causing more people to arrive even earlier backing up lines even more.

FWIW, my wife just went through security at 10:30 am this morning. Got to the airport early because of the reports and photos of long lines. Took her 7 minutes (has Clear) to get through. Sent picture of barely any lines.

I thought as the day goes on and ICE gets there this would happen. You free up the tsa to all screen if ICE covers the other security jobs.

It seems the real newsworthy days hinge on whether there’s an organized sick-out amongst the staff

I can send you a video from just today where I was in line in the parking garage
It’s going to be awful for any early flight because so many people who are freaked out are arriving at 4am as well
I waited in line this morning with someone with a 1pm flight at 4:15am….

That’s terrible.
Though delta Atlanta was saying 6 hrs early as guidance yesterday so I get people are jumpy if it’s a CANT miss flight
Saw a report today that staffing yesterday had a 42.3% call out rate for TSA at MSY

Something like 1/3 of all departures out of MSY are before 7am. If you can leave later it’s much more reasonable.
