On a demeanor level, many wouldn’t argue with you, but Trumps list of accomplishments will far exceed Reagan’s.

The main difference between Trump and Reagan is how they treated the press. Though both were intensely hated by the press Reagan treated them with civility. The bastards don't deserve civility. I like the way Trump bitch slaps them.

I'm so glad someone finally posted a thread like this. It's what this board has been missing.

Hey femme, here’s my story.

I had never voted for a thing in my life. I think I was only registered to vote because I answered questions about it when renewing my license. Trump was the first time I ever walked into a voting booth and pressed a button. I knew LA was going red anyway, but that was my little frick you to the whiny sjw movement.

I’m not a pure conservative either. I’m for gay marriage, abortion, and legalized weed, just to name a few. I might actually be one of these unicorn independents that the left posters here pretend to be. But after the theatrics the last few weeks, I don’t see how I’ll ever pull the lever for a dem candidate in anything. The pendulum will have to swing so far back that it practically breaks off for me to consider it.

To people like the OP, I just have to ask—what took so long? Even as someone who didn’t follow politics closely at all, I could see what was happening back in 2016. Everyone needs their own epiphany moment I suppose.

You’re miss-remembering history. At this point of Reagan’s Presidency he was the “amiable dunce” who was going to destroy the US economy with “voodoo economics” and destroy the world by rearming NATO with intermediate nuclear missiles in Europe and aggressively resisting USSR/Cuban expansion in the Americas.

The amiable dunce is still my favorite president of my lifetime, but the Orange buffoon is rapidly closing ground!

I'm not sure that's true. The Republic is under siege by the mindless puppets of an evil that rivals Soviet communism in every way. Ernst Stavro Soros may well be the gravest threat we have ever faced. The chances of the literal extinction of humanity aren't the same but the stakes for the Republic are just as high. And the truth is, we don't need James Bond. We need an honest media. But what we've got is Trump. Donald Trump.

They don’t and those on the other side (left/progs) like the Aggie guy are in public denial of Trump’s accomplishments. Privately, they know it, but choose to sky scream and disavow. Trump is eating their lunch, but they will never admit it.

Don’t forget the “accidental” airing of “the wholesale bombing of Moscow will begin in two minutes” deal as well. I think that shook up the Ruskies as much as anything.

just as high is more accurate, although I disageee

I think the stakes are higher today. Reagan was staring down an external threat, and dealing with backbiting and foolishness at home to be sure

But the opposition has raised the stakes, openly advocating to destroy our basic freedoms and protections. Plus, they are demonstrating that they are willing to use violence and propaganda to achieve their goals

So, while I agree with you in principle, I have to respectfully disagree about the consequences of defeat, and therefore the stakes

What will it actually take for people like you to agree that he isn’t doing as bad of a job as y’all wish he was?

A man’s behavior is a reflection of himself… Not those around him.

The same can be said of others’ reaction to that behavior.

I have said… repeatedly… That I agree with Trump on probably 80% of policy issues. The problem is that he is so VERY wrong on the other 20%. Additionally, his outrageous behavior detracts from the 80% to a significant degree

You walk into work and the first person you meet greets you cheerfully so you respond in kind. The second person you meet punches you in the face. Do you respond with the same cheerful greeting?

Chicken:Egg argument. Your stance hinges on whether you believe the news has only ever “responded” to Trump and it didn’t start the other way around.

Now, how you view that concept is determined solely by your views of the president.

The last several weeks have provided ample reason to be increasingly anti-Democrat, but absolutely nothing during that time has provided a good reason to be more affirmatively pro-Trump

Talk about being separated from reality. Even the liberal media was calling last week Trumps greatest week.

I mean, if you ignore closing the USMCA, getting Kavanaugh confirmed, and employment reports of 3.7% (lowest in 50 years), yeah...Trump didn't do anything.

You might want to take a step back and reassess.

Then you really hate the 80% outrageous behavior of the Dem party presently?

The Democrats are the only thing in American politics I loathe more than I loathe Donald Trump.

The media opposes him at every turn, very often for the sole purpose of opposing him. I hate that we are where we are as a society but you can't separate Trump's belligerent behavior from his effectiveness. Instead of being castrated by bad oress (looking at you classy, dignified Bush family), Trump is getting shite done. Inseparable.
