Trump keeps giving them a bunch of grace

He obviously doesn't want to do what needs to be done...

What does the board think about this situation?

what is the next move?

We all know, Iran was never going to sign or agree to anything of signficance

if they do, nobody believes they will honor it

so why are we playing games or letting them play games?

Troops will have to put on the ground, that's what I think has to happen to order to extract the evil over there...

Change my mind

Although the Abrahms Accords situation is great for overall peace between Israel and the other 7-10 Arab countries, it doesn't do much to solve the current Iran problem.

Frankly, I'm kinda glad they fired on us yesterday so when we go full throttle on them they will only have themselves to blame. They have zero intention of cutting a deal so extending the deadline only makes Trump look like the fool.

Trump holds the cards. Their economy is getting crushed. The longer they wait, the weaker they get.

Trump is the master of the long game, but the midterm elections will cause more action than anything.

Otherwise, they would just continue to blockade until Iran is either out of money or China is out of oil.

It’s called diplomacy. I’m actually happy we’re not rushing into any decision that will put boots on the ground or let this thing get out of control.

Or can’t at the moment. It’s entirely possible he’s buying us time because the military needed this break for reasons we would never know.

Of the likely outcomes (I think invasion is off the table), I'd like to see Iran's Environmental Protection Fee (Toll) be cleared through a clearing house tied to nuclear production agreements via US/IAEA involvement.

It can be sold as a close partnership with a mechanism to keep both parties honest (and there has been a long of dishonesty to this point).

A toll or payment of money for passage in any form is a huge L for the United States.

I think it's important to decouple perceived wins and losses from what is the best likely outcome at this point.

You are drinking the kool aid of a lifelong con man who is in obvious mental decline. What does that say about you?

We were on a roll after the Venezuela thing but now we're back to looking like a bunch of clowns. We keep moving the goal posts. Looks like best case scenario is a stalemate with a peace treaty and now Iran can perpetually threaten to close the straight. Something they weren't even doing before.

Under what circumstance would tolling the Strait of Hormuz be in the basket of things considered "best likely outcomes"?

This would only be a "best likely outcome" if Iran successfully asserts control of the Straight of Hormuz and gives the impression that they will maintain control. I would say, at this point, that has been demonstrated. If you disagree, that's fair, but the answer would remain the same - at the point the effectively demonstrate maintained control over the Straight, an agreement like this becomes a best likely outcome

It’s so nice to see you radical leftists concerned about a president’s mental acuity again. It’s been a while.

The whole point of a negotiation is getting people to sit down at the table to actually negotiate. Trump is strongarming them to stay negotiating.

I bet you that every time Trump has hit Truth Social or X with threats of bombing Iran back to the stone age, was when Iran was threatening to walk away from negotiations.

It is quite possible and reasonable to think that our MIC is still assessing the effectiveness and efficiency of the munitions and tactics we used while bombing Iran. I'm willing to bet that some weapons platforms overperformed and some platforms underperformed?

Yea, I'll just disagree. That level of cuckholdery would be a geopolitical disaster for the United States.
