I just have a feeling the democrats are playing rope a dope with us here, and no candidate will win the nomination and then they will pick a "savior, compromise" candidate like Michael Robinson to "unite" the party.

This is done on purpose so their candidate wont be damaged in the primaries and will have as little negatives as possible when presented to the masses as the savior candidate.

I don't believe your premise. Their star (?) will rise out of the group they now have.

It won’t be Hillary. She bashed the party for not supporting her or having campaign funds. It was excuses #622 and #893 in What Happened?

They may try to pull a fast one with Stacey Abrams though.

Too many unearned egos in that field to think they will stand aside for a presumed savior.

Other than an Obama, who in the world do they have ANYWHERE with the name recognition to splash in and take the momentum?

Oprah?

If the Democrats believe Trump is unbeatable then this will play out like 96 and they will send a sacrificial lamb out, Biden, who has no future anyway. They are not gonna taint a real contender by having them lose. Expect Michelle Obama to be the chosen one in 2024 against a likely establishment Republican.

Obama and Oprah both have the names to give Trump a run. Neither will run though.

Yeah I'd love for Oprah to get raked over the coals for her girls schools in Africa, rampant with sexual abuse and her canoodling with Harvey Weinstein.

A "savior" at what will almost certainly be a brokered convention would be no surprise.

I suspect the 2 candidates will be Moochelle and Hildbeast. (The dems want a woman at the head of the ticket. If neither "heals up" nor "Pokahuntus" make it, their hopes would rest on these two.

Moochelle's name brings back memories of George and Lurleen Wallace. Alabama law prohibited George a 3rd consecutive term, so his wife ran and won. It was a defacto 3rd consecutive term. We Bama people were stupid enough to go along with it.

I don't have any more faith in our electorate than to give their hero another chance to ruin our nation.

How can you say a "brokered convention" right now?

We are still months away from the primaries!

1 or 2 candidates will break out from the pack, others will withdraw, and their support will consolidate to the leader.

The nominee will more than likely be known two months before the actual convention.

That is the usual history of these things.

Oprah is the anti-trump in many ways. I really thought she would run.

That latest one to enter. His personal background is a lot like Trump as far as rich, not a politician, etc.

2024 is going to be an extraordinarily interesting race. I expect Trump will have something up his sleeve for a legacy type successor. I have no doubt the republican establishment will see it as their chance to shoehorn their way back in. And then I agree with you, the dems will see this as their real shot at a Hail Mary type candidate such as Oprah or Michelle.

I think Michele would be a horrible candidate for the dems. They have tried like hell to make into something, but I think even they know no one is buying their bullshite.
