Watching Ron cave on Ukraine was very telling, so I disagree, but either way - its too late for that.

People should have been charged for crimes they actually committed. Door holding aside, I wouldn't even be miffed about charging guys with low level misdemeanors for walking into places they weren't allowed.
But the administration is handing out severe penalties for minor public disturbance level crimes on the basis that it was a grand threat to democracy. That part is a complete fiction that is, at this point, just cover for the administration to punish political enemies.

If you really want Ron in 2028 (and I know you do), its insanely naive to pretend that 4 years of Trump is no better for Ron than 4 years of Biden. In fact, another 4 years of seeding the IC, DOJ, state AG offices with seething and unscrupulous leftwing activists might make the situation in DC permanently untenable for any republican. They would almost certainly spend the next 4 years spying on him and preparing to wage all out war on him. You are whistling past the graveyard.
