If you really want Ron in 2028 (and I know you do), its insanely naive to pretend that 4 years of Trump is no better for Ron than 4 years of Biden. In fact, another 4 years of seeding the IC, DOJ, state AG offices with seething and unscrupulous leftwing activists might make the situation in DC permanently untenable for any republican. They would almost certainly spend the next 4 years spying on him and preparing to wage all out war on him. You are whistling past the graveyard.

I think four more years of Trump will probably leave the country with MAGA fatigue again where as more Biden will result in even more disenchantment with the absurdity of the modern left.

I think Ron's chances are probably lower after following Trump.

Of course, that's not enough for me to want Biden to get four more years.

and Gary Johnson in 2012

Gary Johnson was at the center of another viral campaign moment Thursday. And, like his “What is Aleppo?” gaffe, it wasn’t a flattering moment for his underdog campaign.

===

Gary Johnson drew a blank again on Wednesday.

In another excruciating exchange on MSNBC, the Libertarian nominee was unable to name a single foreign leader he respects, failing to recall the name of former Mexican President Vicente Fox just as he previously drew a blank on the Syrian city of Aleppo.

Your downward spiral is so sad. This is a ridiculous statement. As is your constant screaming “tax the rich!” while you claim to be a conservative.

I think you are spot on.

The anger was understandable.

You just have to be smarter than your enemy.

On the other hand, i think they were being baited into a lot more. The leftists wanted a lot of bloodshed and a big shite show but didnt get it so had to pretend it was. What little violence there was has been shown to be planted to try to instigate something bigger. So a vast majority of the jan 6 protesters did not take the bait. Maybe a handful actually did, and many more are being accused of very minor infractions that are being blown out of proportion. This is what makes it obvious that it was planned, and a lot more was planned/hoped for that they didnt succeed in getting- Contrast that to the BLM cities being burned looted and it was called "mostly peaceful protesting".

you know those times in a movie where there's a bit of a tense moment or mexican standoff and then cooler heads are prevailing... but then all of the sudden one of the side characters goes and does something stupid like open fire after the de-escalation?

maybe they weren't wrong, but that act is now going to give the other side a justification to go to war.

that's how i view J6 people. their anger was justified, but they gave the other side the ammo they wanted. even if we all know the FBI was pushing it and trying to get that reaction and we could prove that 90% of the people arrested were FBI or informants, it doesn't matter. a few people fell for the trap and now every right leaning non-RINO has to deal with the accusations and their inability to avoid an obvious trap

That was in 2016. I don't believe that I vote for him in 2016. I said I voted for him in 2012.

He became kind of a cartoon in 2016.

SFP,

you're on MTVB sometimes, so these may relate. But 2 instances of this in the last week.

In the Gentlemen, the one dude is humiliating another character over and over and over. it's degrading and it's terrible, but if he gets through it, he's done and in the clear. but then the other party just digs deeper and deeper and the dude being humiliated snaps, and now you know that it's on and you can't go back.

In Shogun, the 2 main Taikos are in a bit of a cold war. One Taiko sends emissaries obviously meant to intimidate, but not start a war. The son of the other Taiko decides to take matters into his own hands and slaughter the emissaries.

In both instances, you're sitting there thinking "G...dammit. they were the assholes and we were in the right, but you just went and decided to give them exactly what they wanted and now I (we the non-rioting conservatives) am/are going to have to deal with the fallout because you couldn't keep your dick in your pants.

Im probably aligned with you a lot, I just don't really care about January 6.

I don't really have any desire to go back and undo it. It's a sham and only zealots care about it in my experience. I do feel for the people whose lives were derailed by getting emotionally carried away, but not really my problem.

I’m amazed more MAGA folks don’t see how much Trump is to blame for that whole mess after the election which culminated in that disastrously stupid day.

we usually line up pretty well.

it's not that i care about the idiots that decided it was a good idea to go in there, even with the police holding the doors open. most do genuniely deserve a slap on the wrist, and some worse.

i have a ton of rational, logical, legal, and factual opinions about what happened to the election in 2020 that followed to a logical conclusion, expresses why the outcome and it's integrity should be questioned. but because the loudest and stupidest amongst decided that walking into the capitol was a good idea, those legit arguments can't be heard.

i had a leftist friend that i can talk politics logically and dispassionately with ask me if i thought the "election was stolen." I laid out the illegal change in voting laws, ballot harvesting, dereliction of the chain of command of ballots.

I asked "who won the most votes on election day?" Trump. "Who won the most mail in/absentee?" Biden

If you're a Trump voter and see that rules were changed to largely increase your opponent's ballots, and voting in person (your preferred method) were greatly limited and discouraged, would you not have similar frustration? Not storm the capitol frustration, but frustration?

They said sure, I get that. Well J6 is a bunch of people who weren't smart enough to put that into words.

Think about that.

There is ZERO question that rules were changed on the fly or simply IGNORED by states to elect Biden, but Trump and his supporters are the bad guys trying to usurp Democracy.

It's like when young boosie and Maximus were competing for the love of a LLOTOT and were being mean to each other. I came up with a legendary OT phrase: "It's all about the reaction"
