I think it’s unfair to use the label of “democrat” synonymously with far left stereotypes these days. In Texas at least I know a ton of ol’ baws who call themselves democrats, have shrines to modern firearms in their garage, think the progressive left is full of shite and voted for Trump.
There’s a huge difference between not liking the Ted Cruz’s of the world and thinking anything about the current state of modern leftist thinking is sane. I honestly feel bad for moderate old school democrats because their party and platform have truly abandoned them.

Just went to a gun show in DFW and paid $0.75 Per round for half decent 55gr .223 and $2.00 per round for .300 blackout. If you can find ammo it will be in short supply and more than twice its normal price.

Not just ARs. Any semi-auto. And also any magazine that holds over 10 rounds. That's $200 per semi-auto gun and $200 per mag. Unless you are extremely wealthy, this will force most gun owners to "sell" everything "back to the government" - all by design.

make an account at Global Ordnance, sign up for their email notices. Every so often they run a deal on Tula. $250 for a case of 223.
I got some on the pre-4th of July sale, got another case when it popped up two days ago. Limit 1 per household when it runs, and you better hit it as soon as you get the email.
They also ran a deal on 7.62x39, $210. Last month (Father's Day) they had 9mm, $154.
It's not great stuff, but when they run a deal it's the best price out there, and should get you at least shooting.
Last I checked, they still also had steel Korean mags for $5.99 apiece.

Wikiarms tracks prices at all the major dealers. It is slim pickens right now though. I was on SGAmmo today and put some .223 in my cart, looked at some other stuff, and by the time I went to check out they were completely sold out. Ended up buying from Sportsman Guide on backorder??

Set up your accounts so you can check out as fast as possible. You do NOT have time to browse for "extras"... it's like 4th and 1 and you have the ball, and you see a small hole. Hit that hole, don't dance.

It provides a near-real-time update of ammo prices and availability from online providers nationwide ....you can sort by type, caliber, purpose, etc .... good site

Don't feel alone. For years, my friends asked me why I bought one. They have plenty of hunting guns, and saw no use for an AR. They are seeing things differently these days, and can't find anything.

I have been trying to buy an AK pistol for months. Finally after refreshing the page 1000 times I bought one Thursday.
