re: I no longer engage in conversation some of my ‘Leftist’ friends

Matt. 7:6 tells us not to "cast our pearls before swine."
I think trying to engage with unhinged, hardened Leftists is a pretty good example of what was meant in that line of scripture. There's no point in trying to reason with the unreasonable whose nature is to trample everything good into the mud and excrement in which they live.

Family member who is progressive all the way. Calls his parents racist, while they supported him all the way to a masters degree.
Working for a government agency making high 5 or low 6 figure money. DEI comes in and a black female brought in and made head of department apparently jumping over dozens with more experience. He was fine with that when according to him and another she started weeding out the white people, including my family member.
Apparently they were trashed when new employer possibilities check on work history. Can't get a job at Lowes.
He is not as vocal but still calls for Trump to be killed. No power of critical thinking.

I like to eavesdrop at work. The other day I heard this girl saying “but we stole it” and she said it about 5 times. Obviously talking about whitey steal the land from natives.
Another coworker has a bumper sticker that says “we were all immigrants once” trying to garner sympathy for illegal aliens. How can people go through life so clueless?

Know several of these. "Be kind", "WWJD", etc...
They pick and choose what "values" they want to live by. Coincidentally, it's often values that make them feel superior to others

If she feels so bad about it, she has to do the right thing and move out of the country. Maybe she can find another country that accepts useless people.

The vast majority of the friends I had on the left dumped me when I didn't support Obama, then they started the "nazi" references when I stated I don't believe men can give birth.
The few I have left literally rage post daily, and it is hilarious. Two or three posts a day with links to CNN/NBC etc with lie after lie after lie, along with social media "influencers" that are going off with profanity filled rants about how they want the right killed.

I have one that until Trump was elected, was always jovial and friendly, but since the election he's avoided me like the plague, so both sides do the ignore thing.
Another has taken to using Facebook as his sounding board, and just like many of the over-zealous 'conservatives' that post every rumor on X as fact here on TD, he does the same with 'liberal' articles that similarly are not fact-based. I've tried to explain to him that his Facebook postings of him and his wife and family were always appreciated, sane, normal people don't rant and rave on Facebook any more because people who still use Facebook, have grown weary of the constant back and forth of arguing with friends and family, and getting snide comments from 'Facebook Friends' for their political views.
That meant nothing, so the next time he went off again and posted an article full of lies and conjecture with not a single corroborating fact, I eviscerated the article, added a bunch of facts concerning the judicial onslaught of cases against Trump's use of his constitutional powers as president and finished it with a question.
"You have always struck me as a Christian, for years posting images of your family at different church events and referencing biblical scripture to make a point. Do you pray for Trump's success as president, leading this nation? Don't you want the US to be successful and bring back our middle class? If you don't, then your heart isn't in the right place and it's going to cost you friends."
He blocked me. I've known him since 1998. It makes me sad that people hate on Trump so much that they will abandon friendships to keep scoring political points on social media.

Only way to deal with lib-talk is to troll, agree and amplify by orders of magnitude. Example:
Lib: they need to stop deporting illegals
You: Yes, absolutely! I've signed you up to house a family of 4 with one pdf-file criminal.

Pretty much the same here, but it wasnt really my choice. I've been disowned over the past decade by a lot of my Seattle friends who dislike my positions on social justice.
I havent changed a bit. They just became more intolerant.

I used to but I stopped when one of my liberal friends family members chimed in and lost the argument and decided to threaten my 3 and 5 year old children and call them rapists because of the orange man

I keep my 'inner circle' very small and tight. No libs in there.
My next level includes some people from my life that I considered great friends, but are now drinking the lib kool-aid. I still consider them friends, they were close enough that I don't want to throw them away, as it were, but I just feel a little sad when I see them following the lib talking points.

I try to limit political talk with a couple family and long time friends for the explicit reason that it’s only going to be a shite show because of TDS
Unfortunately I cannot avoid wife’s friends, who are convinced Trump is Hitler.
One of them was telling us about how she froze her eggs (
) so she can have kids by herself if she is still single in a couple years (hint: she will be, without a doubt)

"leftist" and "friends" are mutually exclusive

That person would’ve been on the receiving end of my fist with a broken jaw.

I’ve got one today insisting the Trump getting shot was staged. And his friends are of exactly the same mindset.
I told them to get a good psychiatrist because they’ve clearly lost touch with reality.

I am purposefully keeping my politics off Facebook because I don’t want my leftist contacts blocking me. Their melts are soothing to the inner depths of my soul.
