The real heroes. When someone runs into a fiery building the other person asks “How the frick did you run into that burning building and save that kid? You’re a real hero” and he replies “No it’s the teachers that are the real heroes.”

I’m not going to lie. A lot of my coworkers are bitching about school “not being safe.”

Funny enough, none of the men seem to mind returning to work. Just an anecdotal observation

Yep. Think about how many different professions teachers have now said they fall behind in level of importance. They said it I didn't

First, nobody hates teachers. But, there is growing disrespect for the profession for some obvious reasons:

1. Teachers are always whining about how they're paid while schools are funded more than they have ever been, yet student outcomes have never been worse.

2. Schools/teachers have delivered to society over the last 10-20 years functional retards in large numbers. Need proof? - look for it in the basements of parents everywhere, or just tune into the nightly riots brought to you by products of public education - - - 22 yos that do not understand fundamental math, have no knowledge or awareness of history, and are incapable of coherent logic or dealing with adversity. That's not all on schools, but schools carry a big chunk of the blame.

Most people know nothing about what the teaching profession really entails so these posts are a joke.

I think you're wrong about this. Nearly every parent I know has a solid understanding of the challenges of being a good teacher. But they also understand it's pretty easy to be a shitty teacher, and there are no repercussions for taking your career that route.

I'm not a teacher and never missed a day of work through all this. I'm just sick of oil field hands, operators, lawyers, and other making fun of other people's professions. Not all teachers are worthless just like not all lawyers are ambulance chasers, not all operators are 300 pounds and not all oil field hands are illiterate.

You’re such a whiny fricking bitch.

And of course you don’t want to engage in your kids’ educations. How would you find the time with all your constant Facebooking, desperately searching for something to clutch your pearls over so you can come over here and cry about it—you’ve got almost 80,000 posts in 12 years—in this echo chamber so you can feel like a man with all your e-high-fives. Such a pathetic c unt.

Teachers undoubtedly feel that the “service worker” class should “risk their lives” so they can shop whenever they feel like it for whatever they want, but that it is too much for us to expect them to work.

I think we can cut the education budget by at least 50 %, teachers are so gung ho for online education. If that is the case we dont need school buildings, one central office building will work. Each teacher can have their own office area to video teach about 100-150 students each. This will cut the number of teachers needed by 75 % and since no school building, there is no need for school lunches.

Yeah. That's what I said. Apparently, if you are a teacher. Reading comprehension isn't your subject.

And yet, apparently, teachers consider themselves so unimportant, they plan to defer about 25% of their job to me. Are you trying to prove my point?

And yet, teachers believe that leaving 25% of their job to me is a functional equivalent of regular school.

I mean. OK. But, you look a lot like you are arguing MY point. Not a bright one, are ya....

Well. I mean. No lawyer, field hand, or whatever else has said, "Hey Shorty, my job can be done pretty much just as well if YOU do 25% of it for me".

Let me know when they do.

And he inadvertently made MY point.

By throwing a shite ton of insults at my capabilities, he just illustrated in spades why it's so hilarious that teachers think so little of THEIR jobs that they are OPENLY saying that leaving 25% of it to me is good enough.

Those people don’t represent me. My school is going back in person. Kids do have the option of going virtual. About 75% of parents picked in person. I am teaching zero virtual classes. I think i am paid ok. Sure I would like more but I signed up for it. Middle school teacher coach and I have a pretty cake schedule with 2 6th grade social studies classes. 2 pe classes and 2 athletic classes and 2 conferences(we are a block schedule so we get a conference a day). Only thing I would think could be higher is my coaching stipends but I enjoy it so would do it without pay

I teach in the suburbs and I think generally you find a different type of teacher the. An inner city teacher. Most teachers I teach with are conservative

There are some good, hardworking teachers out there, but most of my teachers always seemed lazy, bitchy and uninspired.

I love the misguided blame toward teachers. They are way down the totem pole for having a say in decisions.

Not really. These decisions are being pushed by unions...who are made up of teachers.

Teachers aren't the issue, the unions are. But teachers let the unions push for nonsense with no accountability.
