I keep reading that Oz and Walker are not good candidates on this board. Why?

Can anyone please explain why they're bad candidates? Nobody ever goes further than "they're bad candidates." What makes them such bad candidates that they're going to lose their races?

Walker is not intelligent enough to properly represent the State. He's a puppet. All you have to do is listen to him speak.
I know the Dems have a dozen or 3 like that, but that's not what I expect from conservatives. The party thought putting a football hero on the ballot would guarantee a win and then they'd have a guy they could control to boot. Well, Warnock is a slick speaker and will eat him up in the debates.

Oz is a carpetbagger for starters. Oprah's underling and he's all about restricting firearms.
Herschel just isn't well spoken and in today's political climate, you have to be to win. Got busted in a lie about his kid which doesn't bode well for conservatives who would turn out to vote for him.
Unless you have the cheating mechanism behind you like PedoJoe. Regardless, both candidates are better than having 2 dems.

I am the only PoliBoard regular who likes Dr. Oz
His naysayers hate him bc he’s a carpetbagger and pre-politician days opinions on guns. Plus he had show one time about transgenders and has a picture with Michelle Obama.
I like him bc I do think he’s willing to Buck the status quo in public health, which is sorely needed right now on a multitude of issues. He was 100 percent correct on his Covid positions. And the ppl who say he’s a quack only do so bc he’s a proponent of taking care of yourself with good nutrition and vitamins.
I also like that he has an interesting and diverse career and was a college athlete. I think that builds perspective- again helpful. And back when Oz was in med school you couldn’t qualify for a cardio thoracic surgery residency unless you were smart AF. (Nowadays I don’t trust anyone’s educational credentials as an indicator of their competence bc of Muh Equity)
Also, Oz is a celebrity and associated with Oprah which really matters to white suburban women. Speaking as a white, semi-urban lady in there demographic; this category of women are necessary to win PA. My money is on Oz. His opponent is homeless, and a communist stroke victim.
Poor Hershel Walker means well but he’s not very smart. I see him as a flawed candidate bc I’m not sure he has the intellectual chops to understand laws. The ONLY thing he has going for him is celebrity appeal. It won’t carry him. That said. Not sure who the GOPe even bothered to run against him in the primary, so the “bad candidate” criticism is not justified . Plus - a tough primary could have somewhat prepared him for how the donkeys will treat him in the general. His only benefit is he’s a guaranteed 100 percent MAGA vote in senate.

Walker I’m a bit more perplexed by given he lives in Georgia and his opponent is a communist, but Oz is a pure snake oil salesman. Has been for years.

I don’t know a ton about him, but from what little I’ve seen I can’t say I have a problem with him - ESPECIALLY when compared to his opponent. I can’t figure out the point of trying to evaluate candidates in a vacuum.
I really like the fact that he’s made something of himself outside of politics. I don’t know how that’s not an automatic prerequisite for Senate consideration.

political choices are always a matter of selecting the lesser of two evils. The problem with a ton of voters is they fall for politicians like Buttchug and Obama, who say the most radical and suicidal shite, but say it in a polished and professional way over guys like Trump, who says what everyone is already thinking - but gets labeled as a loose cannon.
The lesson of Trump SHOULD have been that we do NOT need politicans to run the government. The reaction to Trump should have made it clear that these politicians were NEVER interested in serving us or this nation.

I don't have a take on Oz but HW is the only politician who is as bad as Brandon when it comes to speaking. They both make GW Bush sound like he's a master orator. HW also has an uphill battle with some voters because of his many batshit comments including how he wanted to murder a delivery guy and had voices urging him to do it. Thankfully he came to his senses and put the gun down. Jesus bumper sticker for the win.

People in this board also say Trump should move on from the steal of 2020. We now see the absolute disaster AZ is currently. They want to give the power back to the establishment Republicans , by voting for a politician in Florida for president because he’s governed 3 good years . They totally forget all Trump did and how he was the GOAT in their lifetimes . Some go by what others are saying and that’s all instead of looking at the bigger picture .
