I’m in Aspen and there are Biden signs everywhere. I have seen Trump signs, but only a couple. The wife asked why so many “rich” people vote Democrat, and the only thing I can honestly think is that these “rich” people have no idea what it is like to live as normal citizens. I can understand the people that are poor, and just want free shite because they honestly believe it will help them out. I can also understand the people that want free shite because they don’t want to work hard.
Do some of y’all believe it is fake virtue signaling by the “rich democrats” because they know that a Socialist government will broaden the gap between the rich and the middle class? Or are they just clueless?

because they think the government will take other people's money and not theirs.

I don't understand it either.
A person would rather give it to the feds who are inept and incompetent than spend that money on their families.
Especially upper middle class.
We do have a lot of stupid people in this country though.

Voting for a progressive candidate is about image for many. Buy stylish cars and clothes and complete the image by voting in the same manner your "intellectual" professors in college vote.

dumbasses and establishment elitists globalist anti americans.
any moron who works or owns a business AND votes democrat will not change until a democrat bankrupts them with taxes and regs and socialist policies. the poors give no fricks and want handouts.

I have always wondered this. It’s truly bizarre

Like anyone, some of it is purely peer pressure. Go along to get along. Some have been convinced that Trump, and more importantly the regular people that voted for him, are all racists and bigots, so to vote for Trump aligns you with that...

If you are poor, and have any ambition at all, why would you vote Dem?
Your reward if you make it is having your earnings forcibly confiscated.

They hate the money in their bank right?

White guilt and upper-class guilt are powerful motivators.

Poors shouldn't be voting Dem anyway. Typical Dem implementations prey upon the poors and increase their costs.
Take Netflix for example. Obama's hold a lot power and sway there. Nation been in lockdown for most of the year. People out of work, costs rising all around and no relief in sight. So those geniuses raise prices for their service when customers can least afford it. Next they'll be wondering why they lost market share and where their customers went.
Typical for Dem logic: Hurt the most vulnerable when they are at their most vulnerable.

Even then, you have a higher probability of being "poor" due to Dem policies.

Bigotry of low expectations.
The absolute need and desire to be the “white savior” who swoops down and saves those poor minorities who don’t know any better.
Quite raysis. But it’s okay because they have “good intentions”

Part of it deals with image. When I lived in NYC I could see how tense things could get in my social circle if I openly supported Bush. Many upper middle class people are afraid to rock the boat and lose friendships/business/etc.
I do believe this though....I think that many people openly support democratic policies in social circles, but when voting day comes they vote for the republican, or independent candidate. My wife's Grandmother was a Democrat and openly progressive, in a respectful way. However, she was also a devout Catholic, racist, and wealthy but protective of her money. Most of her kids were Democrat and I believe she just went along with it until voting day came.
I would think that rich upper middle class people would rather CHOOSE where their money goes through donations and philanthropy programs. I think that once you have a certain income or Trust fund (above $1M a year) extra taxes will not affect your lifestyle so it is not an issue.

Because an overwhelming majority of them can't think for themselves and need more government to help them with this process daily.

Yes. It’s a charitable act in their mind to vote D.

All we have to do is balance the budget one year and then they’ll see the real cost of freebie progressivism.

They are sheep. They associate themselves with people who are more "evolved" in their thinking. Ironic, that in reality, they do not grasp reason and logic.
