I want a conservative justice like Gorsuch, but IMO the battle over gay marriage has already been fought and won. Let's leave things as they are with gay marriage and move on to more pressing issues.

Agree? Disagree?

I don’t think you’ll find too many conservatives that give two shits who gets married or smokes weed on here.

Civil Unions should be up to the States but yes, I don't want that to be an issue at all.

If gays want to sign contracts to be civilly joined then why stop them. It's not a big deal.

They should not force religious people to marry them though. Find someone that wants to participate and stop being so damn bitchy. That's all I ask.

If trump nominated a judge that reversed gay marriage he would lose a shite ton of independent voters.

Agree and I don’t think you have to worry about this. Obergefell was so recent.

F*ck that.

Constitutionally, it belongs to the states. They can encourage the states to keep it legal, but why sh!t and piss all over the Constitution just because it's your political opinion?

We already have a ton of really BAD district court opinions misinterpreting Obergfell by trying to give gays some sort of "protected status" even though Kennedy went to great lengths in writing a horrible opinion that did no such thing.

I think it should have been left up to the individual states. The SC ruling was federal overreach imo.

People will lump abortion and gay marriage in together, and maybe that makes sense politically

But despite my hesitation on abandoning the abortion issue, I see no reason whatsoever to continue the fight on gay marriage. Who cares.

It'll be fine. I want Roe v Wade overturned time now though. And I want a broad ruling in the Masterpiece case.

I am pretty conservative Constitutionally, and I 100% don't agree.

The SprCrt made the right decision.
