Like I thought, he’s an evil SOB. Probably why Putin loves him so much.

This ain't a WWE main event matchup. We don't have to always pick a side

Same with Ukraine

Same with Israel

Same with ISIS and Taliban

no hes not. Syria under Assad had religious freedom and Christians were held in very high esteem in the regime and more or less comprised the upper middle class and elites.

Christian culture is so pervasive in Damascus, Homs, and Aleppo that Christmas and Easter are celebrated by all facets of Society

Additionally the Assad regime is very secular and cosmopolitan for a middle eastern/ muslim nation

Yep, we will see a lot of Arab Christian refugees soon. Happens about once every 40 years and we're due.

I'm cool with that. All the ones I've known are damn fine people.

Of course they’re going to say it was Assad. The CIA was behind it.

I recommend you start by listening to a good BBC interview of Assad, 27 minutes long:

If you really are interested, The Economist is broken down by regional sections that cover each corner of the globe. A subscription is one of the best investments you can make.

It’s a great way to stay appraised of what’s going on worldwide. I think every adult should read The Economist cover to cover every week.

The chemical attacks either didn’t happen or were staged by rebel forces to create support for a western intervention.

Assad is an ophthalmologist and probably exceedingly normal

Poli Board backs Assad

It is not that simple. Most of us don't particularly support Assad but also don't support committing U.S. resources to replace him with a different leader who would probably be just as bad. Syria is past the point of being salvageable. Getting involved to replace one bad guy with another is a waste of resources.

So speaking to your peers rather than receiving corporate sponsored msm talking points is why democracy can’t exist? Not good for democrats, but democracy is just fine

Whatever side gives more power to the people. The problem in that part of the world is that it is usually more of the same. It is just people hungry for power and a poor, uneducated populace caught in the middle

Yeah I get it. I guess there really aren’t any good guys in this.
Assad is supported by Russia, Iran, and Hezbol assholes.
The rebels are assholes too
