I don't know how "planned" this listening session is, but it is weird

"Pretty extraordinary scene watching a US President sit there and let victims just go down the line and vent at him."

Is this a good or a bad move by WH?

You could not have put this random thought into one of the 2 threads already on the topic?

I believe W did this with the families of some troops who died in Iraq, he just didn’t have it broadcast.

That nutbar who camped out in Crawford had one such meeting with him and became a drama whore when she didn’t get to do so again.

I'm one of the stronger never Trump people in here, but I think this is a great move by him. Why not hear the opinions of the people who have gone through this and come to a decision with that, along with looking at things from a factual standpoint and help from advisers and people who have looked into this for a long time.

It's a good move for the victims and those affected, which is all that matters.

I've only watched a few minutes, but there were a few for and against?

Our President is so patient and wise.

You can tell he’s already strongly decided to arm teachers and it will be so strong and so effective.

It's a very good move. Trump is an executive and he's done this many times before.

He may Tweet more than many think he should BUT he's a leader listening so he can act. This isn't a show. It's very real.

Yes. And parents. The mayor. People from Sandy Hook.

This will be played side by side next to the hooligans shouting at Rick Scott and carrying signs. Trump looks good and these people talking to him look like sages compared to those idiots being coached and pushed by anti-gun activists.

This was not a for and against ,us vs them session.

Several people suggested banning ARs if that is what you mean.

Lots of ideas thrown out by parents of Columbine, Sandy Hook, and Parkland victims.

Suggestions from local DC schools that deal with gun violence in their communities.

Trump mentioned looking into having armed teachers and asked for a show of hands. About half agreed with him and half did not.

This is probably the most presidential reaction we have ever seen to a gun tragedy. And knowing Trump he will have a 10 point plan announced by Monday.

You just played yourself. Next time you better check yourself before you wreck yourself.

Trump doesn't make bad moves - he makes moves that common folks simply don't understand yet.
