Perhaps so.

Then again, there was a fairly generous buyout offered, was there not?

We are deeply in debt as a country, are we not?

There is imminent associated danger with the amount of debt we're carrying, is there not?

DOGE recommendations are designed to mitigate some of that danger, are they not?

There is a critical race between DOGE actions and radical Lawfare resistance, is there not?

The race will result in collateral damage regardless of outcome and regardless of who or what the crosshairs are centered on. So the question you should ask before engaging absurd invectives like "mongoloids" is "Where do I want the crosshairs focused?"

“They” forget? The Federal workers who were fired include people who remember, as well as people who forgot, the folks fired for not taking the vax. They include people who were pro-vax and people who were anti-vax; Trump supporters and Trump haters.

The Federal Government needed to be cut; that’s all that matters.

It sucks when anyone loses their job.

But as people in the private sector know, nothing is guaranteed.

What erodes sympathy is the clear sense of entitlement many of them have.

What is it that we are not teaching in schools for none of these people to get the fact that a government employee does nothing to contribute to our GDP and is entirely a cost on our balance sheet. Go get jobs that contribute rather than consume..

When you make it extremely difficult to fire an individual, you essentially are allowing that individual to underperform if they choose to.

Meritocracy on the other hand is self determined. You have the freedom to work as much or as little as you want, … but not without consequence.

You are absolutely correct. Even productive private employees get laid off sometimes. It's the way business works. Do a good job, update the resume, and on to the next job... many times it's a better job!

That's not a knee jerk reaction.

It's an understanding of the obvious fact that if everyone in the country had as "low stress" a situation as government workers, the country would collapse due to acute inefficiency.

There were a lot of people fired for refusing the jab

There was a highly paid/skilled sector of pipeline cut completely out by Biden.....Biden's response: "Cross Train".

The government has put many private sector employees out of work and did not care a bit.

there are plenty of jobs for hard working americans. Hell, I'd be willing to bet the brass would actually give recommendations for the good workers they had to let go. If you are a hard working, dependable, half way intelligent employee, you will land on your feet and probably with a better opportunity. Now, if you have green hair, nose studs, and are not dependable.....McDonalds is hiring.

Work harder. So it's envy more than your tax dollars as the main motivator.....by your own words.

Go talk to any employee in the UAW. I talked to one guy that had done nothing but grind small parts for 32 years.

I'm not so callous as to not feel empathy for someone losing their job, especially someone middle-aged and attempting to put some roots down, grow a family etc.

But the purpose of the federal (or state) government is not supposed to be a primary employer. These jobs are not supposed to exist for their own sake, and WAY too many of these are exactly that.
I've known people who work for the State in various positions, and there is intentional waste and overspending; they have to hit a number, to keep that number for next year's budget. Often they don't meet it, so they go out and buy random shite like all new desk furniture etc before the end of the fiscal year. Otherwise, it would be evident that they can get by on less, so they don't get the same funding.
And job descriptions- I've seen job descriptions that go 3 pages, and in the private sector the same job is a paragraph. I pointed it out to someone running a State clinic once, and the director told me straight-up: if they clarified the actual duties and responsibilities, it would be pretty obvious they could run the clinic with 9 employees instead of 45.

This is what DOGE is fighting, and it's terrifying all those people used to having a cushy job with no real purpose on society, who simply "work" until they hit the age to retire with a good package. Many of them have become so lazy and entitled they wouldn't be able to function in the private sector, because they've been conditioned to not achieve too much.
