By the time all is said and done we will have less than 100 more immigration judges, likely less than 800 total, and we will have done nothing to address that problem.

Crazy thing is they have been firing as much as they hire so you are net neutral in growth. Some of the ones that were fired had denial rates above the national average, so not that they were pushovers even though they were hired by Biden.

Very few Afghans were brought over for assisting the US in the war, those guys are different.

Most of the 200k were Biden “refugees” aka terrorists than Biden let in unvetted. They have to go back, adios.

Someone with asylum isn't an illegal.
If he helped the US and served our government then at least we should allow him asylum.

It's crazy that people who claim to be prolife are fine with sending some one to their death.

Prolife has never meant you're in favor of providing safety and resources to every single person on the planet and its disingenuous when you guys try to claim it means anything other than being against abortion.

The U.S. government asked a judge this month to deport a father of two to Afghanistan, where he expects the Taliban to kill him. To make its case, the Department of Homeland Security did not accuse him of any crime or disloyalty or act of terrorism. Instead, attorneys argued that Afghanistan — a country U.S. forces rescued him from in 2021 — is safe for his return.

President Autopen declared it so safe that he relinquished all of our military bases and agreed to give them millions every month.

This article plays right into the Dems’ wheelhouse- the whole thing plays on emotions like fear and sadness or empathy.

Is this a Biden immigrant? Biden red flagged Trump supporters from getting FEMA when they were wrecked and stranded in the mountains; does anybody but a fool or a partisan think that pro-Taliban were not at the top of the asylum list.

More shell games is likely. Trump’s people know. If not they should get on it.

Every day it’s a sob story from someone, what you are really saying is yeah we let in too many people but correcting that mistake is just too difficult. We promise in the future to get it right and let’s look at every individual case, which would take decades to do. That’s really what you mean and it’s the same argument for cutting spending. We can’t cut that now, too many people depend on it!!

In case you didn't know. Muslims believe in Jesus, and also wait for the return of Jesus.

I sure did know. Very smart and correct of them.

If I feared the wrath of my own religion, I think my first act would probably be to denounce and leave that religion. Certainly if I was begging to stay in a country seen as the great Satan according to his fellow Middle Eastern Muslims.

My question was simply a curiosity.

Um... if we rescued him in 2021, then why is he here illegally? Why did he not have the common decency to get his paperwork in order?

According to the article, he is here legally (I presume under Operation Allies Refuge, later known as Operation Allies Welcome). He still had an active humanitarian parole determination at the time of his arrest according to the Post. Its unclear if HS disputes this or if there was another basis for his detainment.

The issue is whether he must return (at the end of his parole period?). The standard is whether the asylee has a "well founded fear". The guidance on this point that has often been used is

quote:

There is simply no room in the United Nations' definition for concluding that, because an applicant only has a 10% chance of being shot, tortured, or otherwise persecuted, he or she has no "well founded fear" of the event's happening. See supra at 480 U. S. 431. As we pointed out in Stevic, a moderate interpretation of the "well founded fear" standard would indicate "that, so long as an objective situation is established by the evidence, it need not be shown that the situation will probably result in persecution, but it is enough that persecution is a reasonable possibility."

INS v. Cardoza-Fonseca

The lower level US attorneys are stating that is not realistic because his University is currently under operation and his NGO still exists. The post has quotes from the former that it is not operational but has some online classes and that the NGO is closed.

ETC: His humanitarian parole was still valid at time of arrest, but has lapsed during his detention. Corrected above.

What non-immigration related law did he break?

I guessing drunk driving that caused injuries or deaths, SA, or some violent crime
