Funny story my dad was reading from his dissertation ( early 90s) during a meeting 2010ish. When he said mentally retarded the room stopped…. People from the state and federal gov were there. Realizing everyone was staring he said “I’m reading from 1992 if you have a problem with that invent a Time Machine and change the verbiage”. His boss never sent him back to those meetings.
