H.R. McMaster, President Trump’s former national security adviser, called the president’s plan to withdraw troops from Afghanistan “unwise” in an interview scheduled to air Sunday.

The retired lieutenant general told CBS’s “60 Minutes” that Trump’s negotiations with the Taliban and the plan to withdraw troops has made the U.S. less safe.

“Well I think what he did with this new policy is he in effect is partnering with the Taliban against, in many ways, the Afghan government,” McMaster told CBS’s Scott Pelley in a portion of the interview released by the network Thursday.

“So I think that it’s an unwise policy, and I think what we require in Afghanistan is a sustained commitment to help the Afghan government and help the Afghan security forces to continue to bear the brunt of this fight,” he added.

NeoCon War Mongerer who likely has financial stakes in military contractors and defense companies warns against withdrawing troops from our pointless never ending wars in the middle east that serve no purpose other than lining the pockets of said military contractors and defense companies?

The foreign policy I supported Ron Paul for is at least having steps taken toward

I don't know how RP would have dealt with this barrage of backlash though.

frick the middle east, they have always been fighting over there, they always will be fighting over there, no point in being there. Bring all our troops home from the region.

In a perfect world we would. Unfortunately we have too many politicians bought off by the likes of Raytheon and Lockheed lobbyists whose stock prices are directly tied to never ending middle east conflict.

The comments of that article are full of democrats, leftists and Biden supporters hammering Trump for wanting to withdraw and supporting McMaster.

As if we needed any more proof the democrats have become the party of eternal middle east conflict.

As a nation, we don't give a frick about the lives of the people in the middle east. We just pretend to care as we stick our noses in and arm local radical groups. For political and financial purposes we keep a lot of countries in a perpetual state of unrest. It's disgusting.

It would be like if China sent troops to Portland...and kept flying in loads of advanced weaponry and arming antifa and blm, so that they could fight against our government.

I know that a lot of middle eastern residents have it rough. I can't care about that.. because a lot of people in our own country also have it rough. In our own country, there are child trafficking rings, there are countless murders each year. There are countless rapes. There are countless cases that involve beating women and children. Beneath our 1st world luxuries, a lot of cruelty is hidden. Instead of focusing all our power and attention on trying to clean up our nation... we worry about the people of other countries.

What an honor to join today's Intra-Afghan Negotiations in Doha. It is remarkable - and a testament to the human spirit - that the pain and patterns of destruction are no match for the enduring hopes for peace held by the Afghan people, and their many friends.

The only things that have made the U.S. unsafe are the democrat party and their media mouthpieces.

Remember when Dems were anti war and represented the common man? The pivot to war and big business came during none other than the Clinton administration.

But the crux of the protests and the protest leaders leaned heavily left. The infamous interview with John Kerry was to counter young republicans.

It's been almost 20 years we have spilled blood there.

Twenty. Years.

The American people are done sustaining that shithole.
